Are you suggesting a 25%-50% tax on foods?

Not sure how you transfer it to the Food insecure. Perhaps Charitable donations. Its a complex issue that maybe i over simplified.

to the shock of nobody...
Unable to pay its creditors, natural food store Planet Organic Markets has shut a chain of stores that spanned three provinces.
The company’s executives sent letters to employees and creditor Tuesday informing them of its demise.
https://edmontonsun.com/business/loc...e-3db325a48c66
In a March 3 letter to creditors, the company said a secured creditor is owed $18 million “and has a lien on substantially all of the company’s assets to secure payment of the debt.”
“The company estimates that the total amount of other creditor claims is in the range of $12 to $16 million.”
Those unpaid creditors can expect to be paid about seven or eight per cent of what they’re owed, states the letter.

There is so much of this that is so painfully obvious.
Who ever could have surmised that enormous brick and mortar stores selling highly specialized products to a small niche demographic at outrageous prices would have revenue issues?

I really like Whole Foods. There is one by my place in Vancouver - the city that I live in. Sometimes it is nice to pay premium for premium products. Their produce is always better than Save-On Foods or No Frills.
Also Whole Foods is on an entirely different level than Planet Organic. It always made me larf when Calgarians compared the two.

The Debajis at Southland and Elbow where the Planet Organic is was a great store. Best veggies, fruit and bakery in Calgary, just way ahead of its time.

I remember getting stoned in HS and going to Debaji’s in Northland to look at their giant ass mother####ing king crabs. If I wasn’t a poor student I’d have bought two and put on a fight to the death.

Any place in Calgary that sells live king crabs the size of a small Volkswagen? Debaji’s is the only place I’ve ever seen them.

I mean great, enjoy your 'larfs' I guess. I wasn't comparing the two. I was just pointing out that Locke's assertion that an "enormous brick and mortar stores selling highly specialized products to a small niche demographic at outrageous prices", which is a dead-nuts definition of Whole Foods, was an obvious failure from the start is hilariously off-base.

I mean, I wasn't criticizing you, but Whole Foods isn't really any of those things.
