Seattle Sound would sound a bit amateur but alright for a name. Dunno. Krakens would be a name that would grow, but at this point is a bit more fit for AHL. Can't explain it, but to me it does.

No chance. Seattle Sounders is already the MLS team.

OK, so Starbucks is a big Seattle success story, right? And it's named after a character in Moby Dick. So following on the Melville/whaling theme ...

The Seattle Dicks?

I think someone mentioned something about the grunge scene in Seattle, although the "Seattle Grunge" doesn't quite work. I've been trying to come up with something to do with Nirvana, but can't quite figure it out.

Seattle Thunderbirds would have been good - obviously could not do it with UBC...

I still think the Seattle Satellites would be an awesome name. If only NASA would move out of Houston.

Or they could call them the Bears and go with a mature, hairy slightly overweight team

Hilarious thread with people suggesting other, worse names.

Sound? Sounders? Spirit? Thunderbirds?

For shame

Perhaps a bit boring but I was thinking the Seattle Storm wouldn't be a bad name. Not a fan of the Kracken name.
