I know this isn't always the case, but if a goalie covers the net well, he doesn't need to cover the post. I don't think it's fair to assume he was "beat" when someone hits the post (at least not all the time).

I've never played hockey, so maybe I'm totally wrong, but I've always thought this when people assume post = beat goalie.

Brodie with the incredible shift in OT, did everything but finish.
Hanifin needs a mental adjustment because that walkaround can't happen at this level. No special move or speed by Benning, just misplayed.

Flames were all heart in that 3rd period. Pretty gutsy effort after running into penalty trouble in the 3rd, not to mention the fatigue from playing back-to-back started to catch up to them about halfway through the period.
The stick toss by Rittich at the end was hilarious, lol. What a character.

 Loved the Monahan/Nugent-Hopkins fight.

Flames with 6 points against the Oilers so far this year. The universe is unfolding as it should.

3 games and 6 points from the oilers. Gift that keeps giving. Also win the season series with that win.
Not going to lie, the heart rate is a wee bit high.

I thought Buddy looked ok, not as good as last night but pretty decent for an AHL'er. The PK was pretty good. Rittich was great until that Benning goal. I thought Benny looked pretty good in limited time. Money scrapping was unexpected but pretty awesome.
Johnny was MIA for a lot of the game. Too bad. We need him. Lucic was way too quiet in a game like this. Probably too many personal ties, but this is the kind of game they brought him in for.

The broadcast crew was......I'll stop there. And for such a fun, intense, important game it just shows how the shootout has lost it's luster. Just keep going 3-on-3. Stupid way to decide a game.

Big two points. Let's pummel them on Saturday!

			Good game.
Refs were horrible. How do you not even take a closer look at that 2nd flames goal. And then what 4 or 5-1 penalty count on those garbage calls?

Mangiapane is proving to be a guy who steps up in the big games. But he doesn't score much otherwise. Hes like the anti gaudreau. Rasmus, tkachuk, rittich and lindholm all seem to be guys who enjoy pressure

Also great to see the team engaged, but bugs me with the oilers running around how little lucic has done. He should have fought kassian by now imo. Know your role. Hopefully he is just waiting for a lopsided game.

Didnt mind Robinson. Way more noticeable than janko this year.

And poor backlund looks like the new kid has just destroyed his sleep or something. Not himself all year

Probably the most understated part of the season so far, I'm glad you brought it up.

He's been great this year and absolutely on fire since coming back from his health scare.

He looks like he's playing for a big pay day. Looks great out there game to game minute to minute.

Great game!! Happy with the result. The one thing I have been noticing is some bad reads by Hanifin lately. It seems like he underestimating the skill level of the players he is making theses plays on.

This is why I would never trade Brodie at this stage in his career. I consider him the Flames best defenseman at this point as Gio has slipped this year.

Brodie has a lot of intangibles that other Flames' defensemen don't have...not that Anderson might not get there...but he is not there yet.
