He's also put a bounty on Kassian. Flames All-Star steps up and answers the bell against the meathead. Now it's the meathead's turn to answer the bell with Zac "Killer" Rinaldo.
Go get 'em, Killer!

Reider is a good defensive player and he needed an extra centre. Reider happened to win the draw, too.

Wow that was crazy. I feel worn out watching and it's only the first period.

Flames look to be skating in mud tonight. Very slow in on the forecheck in the last half of that period.
They have to step it up.

I’m a little disappointed that in a game with this much emotion the most notable play by Lucic was peeling off on a potential big hit on McDavid.

Good period.
Really am happy that tkatchuk just killed the whole issue with the fight.
Am annoyed that the flames seemed to dip in play after the fights.

Fun period. Wasn't expecting a Monahan fight!
Only thing bringing me down is this horrendous broadcast crew. They make me want to turn the channel.

You don't put out Reider and Mangiapane against McDavid and drysaitl, over and over again. He chose to do this at least twice there, as he new damn well who the Oilers were putting out.

It was an ok time in the game for tkachuk to fight kassian. I am actually glad he stepped up and fought even if he lost. He actually gained even more respect from me than I had before after this. Note - I always did hold him in high regard. Good job Matt!

Decent final shift of the period. Those scraps gave the Oilers lots of life. Flames need a momentum change in the 2nd. Gotta start skating again, get the next goal, and the Oilers will fold.
