What a jacka$$.

Tkachuk needs to run him over as well. Just pow, and then tell him to go F himself.

Seriously Draisaitl's an idiot.

He can, just when he isn't in the same dressing room as Matty.

Versteeg's #### you for example was funny, and unanimously so. Leon's wasn't so much of a knee slapper.

So who ended up coaching for the Pacific with Gallant being fired?

Surprised no one has mentioned David Amber's interview with McD and the German Gretzky. The only one after the game that I saw on SNET. Paraphasing here, he asked Conner about coming and playing in the ASG and finding out just how good he really is. Fortunately, McD showed some humility and quickly said no to the latter. I swear, SNET would be thrilled if their NHL only had one player 24/7.

Just rewatched that tkachuk feed to Draisaitl... didnt notice the first time around, but you can see chucky slightly lift his left skate and the pass he sends to Drai actually goes underneath that skate. It's probably what through off the opposing goalie so bad. Crazy no look pass lol

We like to knock on mcdavid lots around here, deservedly so. But everything I hear around town/ see indicates that he hates the cringiness of fans/media about him as much as we do. Anyone remember that hyper awkward photo of him at the airport? Lol

Loved the Tkachuk line. As a Canucks fan there was a time I was pretty salty we didnt draft him, but we wouldn't have sucked hard enough to get Petey or Hughes if we had. I'd take them over Matt. Really nice chemistry and they actually played like they wanted to win, not like some other floaters out there.

As a Canucks fan I love Tkachuk and love the way he plays. That being said Id rather have Juolevi/Pettersson/Hughes over say Tkachuk/Glass/Bouchard

So is that the official talking point/justification for Canucks fans now?

It's a blow pick, it happens.

As for the Tkachuk/Leon stuff, who cares guys. It's not that big of an issue.

Sure it was a blown pick if we were still able to get Pettersson and Hughes. Who knows how much Tkachuk would’ve actually changed the standings. But I’ll take Pettersson and Hughes over Tkachuk all day. Of course if I was a Flames fan I’d say differently

As much as I love Tkachuk a 19 year old freshly drafted rookie who scored 13 time wouldn't have moved the needle that much. The could've still had him and the two others. They had the ability to have all three, they only have two.

And that's okay, they've done an incredible job with some top talent recently. Boeser, Petterson, and Hughes.

NBC interviewed Tkachuk directly after the game...of course SN goes with the two Oilers

I also liked how NBC actually called the game... Tkachuk setting up Drai was one of the compelling moments and Sportsnet barely mentioned it because they were talking about non-sense at the time.

NBC also had great praise for Rittich and his amazing 1.00 GAA which is actually remarkable.

I know I say this every year, but this is my dream schedule ...

ASG gets played in September as the official Kickoff to the season:
- fans are itching for hockey
- players are itching to get back
- selection is based on the entire previous season and playoffs
- a true celebration of the game and the highlights of the previous season
- very few players would opt out for ‘maintenance’ reasons

Winter Classic remains as the key mid-season event.

Insert single bye weeks for teams in late Jan to mid Feb for maintenance.

I don't know if the beginning of the season would be any better. Look at pre season games and the effort level of the starters during those games. I could also see players dropping out of the game because they don't want to get injured for the upcoming season. Arguably, more players might skip it at the beginning of the season and take a suspension for game 1 vs skipping in Jan and taking a suspension in game 50.
