I think I've made 3 helmet related jokes just today.

I can envision the equipment manage spending hours trying to explain it to him and the scene cutting to him having the helmet on top of his head upside down or something and then the trainer beating him to death with a helmet out of unfathomable frustration.

They need to do that to Kassian's helmet.

They thought they had idiot-proofed the concept of cranial protection but Zack Kassian has merely developed into an inconceivably more advanced idiot.

Kassian and his helmet reminds me of when Warrener popped Bertuzzi like a zit

Off topic, but the Sarich hit on Marleau was amazing. Got us a comeback too.

Please, Kassian, during your hearing, repeat your post game comments.

Nah, let him continue to wear it loose

You know in the movies when the actor playing the villain gets punched and you see him accentuate the punch by throwing his head back, crossed eyed and a ball of spit flies out of his mouth?

Caveman’s flying helmet after a Tkachuk hit is just like that

That was clearly game management, not officials calling the proper penalties. In a 5-2 game - or if the victim isn't Matthew Tkachuk - that's aggressor, fighting and a game.

To me the fact that nothing has been said yet regarding Kassian's inappropriate and sexist use of the derogatory term for female genitals in reference to Tkachuk is further proof that the NHL still has a long way to go to get itself aligned with current societal mores.
The fact that the panel cheered the whole on-ice incident is also disappointing.

Amazing that Tkachuk can so easily get into a players head like he does. He plays so close to the edge that players have to cross the line to retaliate. Its impressive.

The Oiler hate towards Chuky is so bizarre. Don’t get me wrong, I get why he’s not likeable to opposition fans and teams, but this vilification of him by the Oilers fans, media and players (maybe just Kassian) is truly perplexing. This notion that he needs to pay the piper..... but for what?

I said this last year after Kassian attacked him in the one meaningful game we had against them, but it’s just so weird. He’s literally done nothing to them. Last night was the most he’s done, which was throw 3 clean hits against arguably their most physically capable player, not McD, not Drai. And for that one of our best players needs to pay the piper? It’s just messed!

When LA came knocking for Chuky, that was fine, he threw an elbow, on an actual star, and he obliged by fighting. This Oilers storyline is just pure fabrication.

Also telling what type of player Kassian is. Tgat reaction, only warranted (maybe) if he was defending hits on McD, he literally blew up trying to defend his own pride. Selfish player, no control, bad team Nate and cost his team a huge game,

He really should learn to do up his seatbelt, especially if hes going to be riding the chuckwagon all night. Safety first.

Is this a phone or in-person hearing? I thought that indicated how long of a suspension he could be handed.

His comments after the game were pathetic. Tkachuk is a p***y, look at me now and how many goals I have - he was wrong, I'll get him next time... Lack of professionalism and putting himself before the team. What a goof.

Perfect Oiler. Lock him up! 7x7!

On Hf boards theres an Oilers poster who is frequently bombing the thread calling tkachuk a girl and telling other posters they should wear dresses.

It saddens me deeply that this individual is stuck so badly in their own world that they think these "insults" do anything but show people how much of a moronic sexist redneck they are

Last year's game was about face washing as some unparalleled foul that needed to be answered.

In the same game Gaudreau was hit from behind in the boards, Tkachuk was essentially slew footed by Draisaitl, and McDavid took Backlund down by the neck in a calf roping incident.

Might need an SATL just for the reaction to the verdict on this including the hits being determined as clean.

Remember when Avery used a misogynistic term to describe Phaneuf's relationship with Elisha Cuthbert? I believe he said something like I hope he enjoys my sloppy seconds. This wasn't during a game but during a media scrum and like 10 years ago and he got suspended. Kassian's p*ssy comment on live TV reminded me of that incident except society is far less tolerable to sexist and misogynistic remarks like that nowadays.
