The boxscore must be wrong, it was definitely Sampo Ranta

I knew it must be wrong; I don’t have Tsn in my tv package so have been relying on the box scores.

Sets up for some very fun and exciting hockey tomorrow morning.

Finland vs Sweden for Bronze.

Canada vs Russia for Gold.

Looking forward to it.

Good win. The Finns are kind of the team to beat in recent years.

I imagine that bronze medal game will be pretty intense as both countries have a lot of pride and a bit of a hockey rivalry.

Hard to be confident in Canada considering how they were already trounced by Russia once in the turnament.

Flip side is that it's hard to beat the same team twice in the same tournament

That was my initial guess as well but doesn't sound like it.

"The initial outlook that Team Canada received from doctors on Saturday night was not encouraging for Barrett Hayton," said Seravalli. "Now the potential positive news is there is still a chance. Team Canada did not rule out Barrett Hayton for Sunday's gold medal game. And in addition to that, they were hoping re-evaluate him on Sunday morning and see if he can go. But at this point it probably seems like he is a longshot and that's the eventuality that Canada is preparing for."
Unless they are just playing mind games with the Ruskies, I cant imagine they would not rule him out if he suffered a broken clavicle or something similar.

Too bad about Hayton. I wanted to see how the Russians respond to his helmet debacle in game.

After the first period in the Bronze Medal game, Finland leads 2-1. The first was due to poor coverage by an Edmonton prospect (Broberg), the second on a brutal giveaway by a Canucks prospect (Hoglander).

It was one game, Russia hasn’t looked that good against most of its opponents.

Canada has outscored its last 4 opponents 22-4.

Considering that Russia increased its goal differential by 12 over Canada in that game, its hard to imagine that Canada leads that stat over Russia now by quite a margin.

The Sweden/Finland rivalry is really starting to surface in the latter stages of this game. Getting pretty intense.
