Of course I was cheering for the win, but I went into the game knowing we were better off losing, so certainly takes the edge off losing knowing you're better off for it.

It’s a tough spot. Playing the eagles then (likely) the 49ers again is likely the best route to the nfc finals.

still not sure how you are better off travelling to an away game on the east coast when you could have had a home game against Kirk "fail on the big stage every time" Cousins. Sure Philly is no juggernaut but to me beating minny at home would be more likely.

Like I said, the key here was avoiding Brees at home in the Superdome and a certain death that comes along with it.

Wildcard is a bit of a tossup either way with Philly or Vikings, but I'll take a Santa Clara divisional game instead New Orleans 100 times out of 100.

I don't know I'd really need to see a replay on that, but I was working on my playbook with another coach, and we both thought it was a designed play to get a pass interference call in the end zone, and maybe that's why the ref didn't call it.

The receiver ran right into the db who was defending his ground.

I don't like the Seahawks chances even next week on a let down game, but agreed, playing SF in SF where they won already this year is preferable if they make it out of next week.

Had the Lions not pissed away the game earlier today, the loss tonight would've been stinging.

Deserved a booth review at very least.

I thought the Hawks were tanking to play the Eagles based on their first half, but Wilson dragged them into the game. Classic NFL incompetence not reviewing the Hollister play in the endzone, but par for the course in this league. It’ll be fun to see if the Saints can get it done, this has been the most fun regular season as a Saints fan, Brees hurt and not losing, it's all gravy.

Thanks for posting this Browna. I don't think its pass interference to be honest.

The receiver comes down and makes an inside move, the DB holds his ground and the receiver engages in a hands on shove off. At that point you could argue hand fighting, but the DB was guarding his position and the receiver tried to push him off.

You could almost argue that it was offensive pass interference as the DB played the break on the ball and the receiver prevented him from making a play.

But at that point the ref looks at the receiver initiating and then hand fighting.

But yeah, there should have been a booth review.

^ In the super slow mo shot, the left arm of the db on the right shoulder of the receiver? Initial contact between the two happened on the opposite side of each guy's body and no, not interference, but with the grab by that db's left arm to the shoulder pad of the receiver, preventing the receiver to get his arm out to try and catch the ball, thats at least defensive holding, which gives the same result of the ball at the 1 and first down, not 4th and goal at the 6.

@AdamSchefter:
Former Panthers’ HC Ron Rivera is expected to be hired as the next head coach of the Washington Redskins barring any unforeseen developments, per sources.

Bruce Allen’s 10-year run as president of the Washington Redskins is over, per sources. He has been relieved of his duties and is no longer with the organization in any capacity.

No surprise as Shurmer's .292 career winning percentage (19-46) in four seasons as head coach with the Giants and Cleveland Browns is the seventh-lowest of all time among coaches in NFL history. This is a case of another coordinator that's just not head coach material.

For some reason I think McDaniels and the Browns are made for each other. An organization that can't get out of its own way and a greasy, weasel of a coach.

Thats very true. Plus now you are sending Brees to Lambeau.

I didn't even know you could do a booth review for PI or defensive holding. I learned something today. And yes that was pretty blatant PI.

Anyway, you never know what you're going to get with the Eagles or the Vikings but it seems to me that Seattle is better off not facing the Vikings' weapons with how bad their defence looked in that game. They've already won on the road in Philadelphia this year, and the Eagles struggled through three quarters in a must win game against the freaking Giants. The Eagles are the worst team in the NFC playoffs and the Hawks are the second worst, so it at least should be a close game?

After watching that Vikings/Packers game last week, I wouldn't be too worried about the Vikings weapons..I'm still bitter about how bad that offence was that game haha, just a completely pathetic display. Vikings are frauds just because of that offence.

Eagles are likely without Miles Sanders and Brandon Brooks for next week. Ertz and Lane Johnson might not be back either. I don't know that I can remember a team with this much bad injury luck three seasons in a row.

Something stinks in regards to either the team's medical staff or strength and conditioning coaches. I've been on Pederson's ass quite a bit at times but what he's been able to do the past 3 seasons, dealing with the injuries the team has had, is pretty impressive.

Helps that they play in the worst division in football.
