I think this is the real Calgary Flames TBH. We're not a top team in the west and a bubble playoff team at best. I think Tre is in for a tough summer.

They got a magic in the bottle season last year where everything went good up until the Allstar break. That break broke the Flames.

what a clunker of a game that was...

maybe they should have gone on a road trip following the edmonton game, cause they looked as bad tonight as they looked good vs edmonton

Just take out Backlund from Monahan line. He not contributing scoring or defending. Backlund needs to play 3d line.

Jankowski skates like he’s going for a line change but then doesn’t.

Gaudreau is basically a pp specialist at this point. Totally sucks 5 on 5.

I don't think I will be sad to see him gone.

Meh.

If I had to pick to lose to either the Oilers or the Canucks, it would be the Canucks. We just weren’t ready for this game.

Can we start giving Talbot some more games? I don’t want Rittich burning out.

i was actually thinking the opposite and that they should swap Johnny and Tkachuk.

I will say that Ward's Flames look more comfortable on the road so far.

At home they've been less opportunistic and a lot of times are making straight forward offensive plays look unnatural to them, whereas away it just look like instinct to them as it should.

I remember last year posters were coming up with their lists for the expansion draft and everyone had Backlund on their list. He is on the wrong side of age 30 and at this rate I think people may be hoping he gets selected in 2021.

Give Talbot more starts. I get Rittich is the guy this year and gets the games against the better teams but when you have a string of games against weaker teams Talbot should be playing atleast every third game. Had Talbot started tonight like I thought he should maybe things end up different. The penalty Tkachuk took was dumb but maybe he doesn't take that if they're only down 1-0.

Rittich could use some competition too. I think maybe by knowing he's the guy plays a part in his mental lapses that leads to the amount of bad goals he's let in this year. As much as we want him to be a guy that can take the load Kipper took he's not there yet.

I have been a massive fan of Treliving throughout his entire tenure but if Geoff Ward remains Head Coach beyond this season, that'll be close to it for me.

The 5v5 hockey the Flames are playing under Ward is beyond embarrassing. If this type of hockey continues, we're screwed.

Yuck brutal performance after a great game against the Oil. Backup goalie on a back to back with such a poor effort. Bad game by Rittich

No-show by the top line. Vancouver shouldn't have been a challenge for a good team's top-3.
