Stamps have re-signed William Langlais and some news out of BC...
The B.C. Lions re-signed running back John White for the 2020 season.
“The production we received from John this year is exactly what we had hoped for when we signed him in February,” general manager Ed Hervey said in a statement.

Calgary Stampeders punter Rob Maver is retiring from the Canadian Football League after a decade as a member of the Red and White.
“After 10 incredible seasons with the Calgary Stampeders, I am announcing my retirement from professional football,” said Maver. “While this was not an easy decision, at this stage of my life is it time for me to pursue my non-football career goals. I cannot overstate my gratitude for everything the club has done for me over the past nine and a half years. I was afforded the opportunity to live out my dream with the franchise I grew to love during the draft process back in 2010. While there are countless people to thank, I would like to thank Huff and Dave for giving me a chance and allowing me to be our punter, to Mark Kilam for helping me grow into the player and man I am today, and my teammates for making the ride so special along the way.
“My wife and I are proud to be settling down and laying roots in the city that accepted me with open arms back in 2010. See you in the stands. Go Stamps!”

First of all, congrats to Rob Maver on a fine career!
Normally, I'm not a big fan of drafting kickers, but Niko DiFonte of the Dinos handled both punting and place-kicking and does both quite well. I think El Matador could use a little competition and if it frees up a roster spot, it might be a pretty good move for the Stamps.

Crap. If one of the kickers was to go I would have rather it be Peredes who wasn't very good last season. Glad he's got another career to turn to and hope he enjoys it.

Geez.
I feel old. Seems like just yesterday the Stamps drafted him in the 1st round and then a couple years later Maver took over for Burke Dales and now Maver is retiring?

I have finally recovered enough from my Grey Cup experience just to say thank you to Calgary. It was an awesome time and the city was great to be in. Lots of bars to hit up, the people were great and the hospitality was awesome. Of course ending the drought made it amazing but it was a blurry, great 2 days. Made up for my the loss in game 4 in 2004.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have hired former Calgary Stampeders’ scout Kyle Carson as director of player personnel, per sources.
Carson spent eight seasons with the Stamps, six as a scout. He joined Calgary as an intern in 2012 then served as a scouting assistant and coordinator of football operations. Strong work in those capacities earned Carson a promotion to CFL draft coordinator while becoming a trusted personnel man.
