I am surprised this didn't get much traction, but Steinberg informed that SN960 made the decision to shut-down the overtime call-in show last night specifically because the station and on-air talent has been targeted by hate mail and death threats over their discussion of the Peters situation.
Disgusting stuff. But I want to say that I have been really happy with how intransigent Steinberg especially has been in all of this. I appreciate that the local station is not shying away from all the difficult nuances in this mess.

I assume it’s because of their stance that racism is bad and Peters should be fired?

That would seem to be a safe assumption.

I like the ex-players like Commie, Rhett and Sarich because they all have big deep voices and I find it soothing in the morning.

I had a good chuckle at the “famous brothers games played” segment that morphed into “players with the same last name but not related” segment.
My personal fave was Lanny McDonald and Joey MacDonald.

I'm sorry I missed it. Did they include homophone names like Tkachuk/Tkaczuk?

I always thought Lane MacDonald had it tough.

I don’t remember Tkachuk/Tkaczuk but after correcting my mistake and fixing the spelling of Joey’s last name, yes!

Who knew about the 3 “McDonald and MacDonald” brothers!

Krahner has such an infectious personality. I can't help but smile whenever I listen to him. Gives me the same Connie vibes. And he certainly has a good voice for radio. I agree with a poster above, all three guys (Commie, Sarchie, Krahn) have nice voices for radio. The worst radio voice of the bunch is Nault lol, funny enough.

My issue with Lou is not so much his mannerisms or style (asking himself questions etc) but is his tendency to oppose criticism of a players on ice performance because the player is "such a good person".
I think in life, it matters much more if you are a good person rather than a good hockey player but when we are listening to a radio program or game preview and he constantly takes the opposing position to someone criticizing an under performing player because the player does so much in the community and is such a good guy with a big heart yadda yadda yadda it kind of demeans his credibility and ability to separate his personal relationships with players he interacts with every day and his job to provide unbiased coverage of the local team.

Excellent broadcaster, true professional and well deserving of the respect he has earned but just a personal gear grinder, I guess.
