The doubles match will decide the winner of Spain vs. Russia and it's currently 11:45 pm in Madrid thus it's going to be some late night tennis.

I'm pretty sure Canada would have played the doubles if they had a healthy a team. They are already down Milos and Felix is also hurt. I agree with Canada's decision to skip the doubles as there was really no point and Shapo and Vasek have played a ton over two days. This new Davis Cup was put together so fast they probably didn't even think about walk overs.

Australia vs Belgium matches are Steve Darcis (boo) vs Nick Kyrgios and GOATfin vs De Minaur. Could come down to the doubles match of Gille/Vilegen vs Peers/Thompson.

It's the first time so they will be some loopholes. They will iron it out. Have 8 groups or play the doubles 1st or 2nd.

It's 1:30am in Madrid and Fritz just beat Berritini to stay alive
The doubles is about to start. US wins and they may be a wildcard. Italy is probably out regardless.

US is eliminated anyways so the controversy didn't matter.

Millman is no slouch, but I agree with Nadal_Fan, he's not as likely to redline and blow Vasek off the court like Kyrgios might do.

Shaky start for Vasek as he was broken in his first service game, but things looking much better now as he breaks back and consolidates to get back on serve at 3-3

Vasek 'Iron Guts' Pospisil wins the opening set in a tie-breaker (tie-breaker score was 9-7). He got robbed by the umpire on a point in that tie-breaker that should have been replayed, but he refused to let it rattle him.

Vasek one game away from victory as the second set is on serve with Millman serving at 4-5.
