This show is a dirty pleasure for me. I feel like I’ve watched it so long I just can’t give up now, plus I want to see those characters who use sign language devoured.

Oh man lol. I have literally had the flu for the last week and just caught up on a couple of seasons of the walking dead.

Season 8 is AWFUL. The nadir of the series. And that's saying something.

I thought that was one of the better episodes in a while, mostly because there was lots of Negan. I'm having trouble caring about many of the other characters.
Someone mentioned that the good guys could easily wipe out the whisperers, but the genius of how Alpha operates them is as a guerilla warfare unit. They disrupt and attack randomly. They undermine the way of life of the stable society. They live in the bush and are not easily found. I think it presents a significant challenge to the group reminiscent of the Vietnam war. Then you add in the sheer mass of walkers they can use and it's like a really, really large guerilla army. Not much for cohesion and proper warfare, but they're good at making life hell for the group. Then you will get a major offensive (like the Tet offensive) and eventually they'll want to leave.
This is a war of ideology and systems of living/government, not unlike the proxy wars of Korea and Vietnam. It's fitting that it resembles those situations.

Its 45 minutes on a Sunday night and I've found that its a lot more casual now.
I liked this week's episode, granted because Negan is awesome.
One of the great things was when characters stepped out of their comfort zones to do something horrible because they think its for the best.
I dont know what his motivation is to fight the Whisperers but I get the impression that its personal now. Hes not fighting for a cause or a community hes just fighting because he feels that he has nothing left to lose which makes him a vastly more interesting character.
Thats what this show thrives on, a character that will fight for nothing more than the sake of creating havoc. Nobody is set up to handle something like that.
The Whisperers think they have the Monopoly on crazy and have the communities scared because they got complacent. Negan is the antithesis of that, he has no loyalty or vested interest in the communities but also likely resents the Whisperers.
So far its been fun.

A Negan-heavy episode and no comments yet. Tough crowd.
I still think Negan has a plan to take the Whisperers out. Hopefully it's a good ride for us viewers. I also wonder if Eugene's new friend is somebody we've seen before; maybe one of the helicopter people?

Ya, this was a pretty solid episode. Probably why there is no chatter! Negan was great, as usual.

I tihnk so. Moves the story forward, and good on it's own merit. Don't they usually show it before the new episode on Sundays?

So much agree. It just doesn't make a lot of sense. In this world, people regularly:
1) Smear blood and guts all over their skin as camouflage.
2) Beat the ever living hell out of walkers resulting in blood splatter all over their face (and likely into eyes and mouth)
3) Use walker bones to beat the tar out of other walkers that could easily result in cuts being introduced into their hands.
4) Reach into walkers chests to rip out bones and guts safely and without ever getting a cut.
But apparently drinking water that has had a few walkers gutted in them, an unknown distance upstream, results in an outbreak.....

We are in times of pre-industrial medicine. It makes sense that common health problems of those times would come back to disrupt society. I honestly think it should be happening more often.

I don't disagree. I just think it's amusing that of all the ways these people expose themselves to the virus, it's "virus water" that's getting the most traction.
Likely over thinking things.

suspension of disbelief is key to watching this show.

This show is awful now.
I don't think I can stick it out anymore even out of principle.

Pretty mediocre episode last night. Amazing how much the quality drops when there's no Negan.
