The Flames have opened the scoring in nine games this year. This needs to change.

You cannot play Stone against a strong NHL team in 2019. He's a "whack it out" D-man, same as Hamonic. Difference is Hamonic brings a little more skill and grit.

But either way, these are the guys you jettison in today's NHL.

It's incredibly foolish to fill 1/3 of your defense with these guys and expect any kind of control or attacking rhythm

Hmmm.

Burke says that discipline, first, and then consistency are the two biggest problems with the Flames.

No mention of the refereeing.

I agree with every point made by Burke. Good take.

I believe the rule is tv timeouts are skipped if there is a stoppage under 30 seconds left in the first and second periods and under 1 minute in the third.

Didn't like the Bennett penalty. Yes he put his stick in a bad spot but the Blue made sure it stayed there and it never actually hooked him. If the stick doesn't disrupt a player illegally, I don't think it should be called just because it's in the vicinity.

Meanwhile Monahan was hooked on his breakaway I thought, and Tkachuk was blatantly by Dunn which noticeably stopped him from catching the Blue with the puck ahead of him.

I’m not sure why the refs hate Bennett, but there’s a definite reputation there - which baffles me. Dude doesn’t even really argue anything, by all means he looks like a good salt o’ the earth player that refs historically respect.

Is that reputation tied to playoff success? You look at the stuff that Perry and Marchand got/get away with and other players on consistent playoff teams...it’s just weird to me.

People can slam the guy for any number of things around here, but the dude has a good number of flat out bad calls against him.

You need a shut down against the top team like this. Kylington would try to pinch and it would be horrendous.
