Only a month in and I’m feeling pretty meh about hockey and the flames in general. Not sure if it’s their lacklustre play or inconsistent officials and calls but I’ve really soured on hockey. I would never miss a game in years past, but now I find myself just checking the score at the end of the night. Weird.

Guaranteed loss tonight. But would be sweet if they won.

Hope we see Monahan down on line 3 for this one.

I don't see the point of line three, but line two would be a positive change.

I expect the Flames to play well tonight. They should be well-rested after taking the day off yesterday.

I dont feel good about this one. The ducks are rolling and we are not. Also, obligatory post about 1 win in their rink since '04.

I like those lines a lot, except for the obvious swap of Tkachuk and Lucic.

These lines will last all of 8 minutes and 26 seconds anyway. Serves more as a message than anything else.

I'd rather see

Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk
Bennett - Monahan - Frolik (Mangiapane once healthy)
Lucic - Backlund - Czarnik
Jankowski - Ryan - Quine

Hamonic - Stone. That is scary.

Offensively, let’s just say that two wrongs don’t make a right.

The second line definitely intriguing. Hopefully that line will play a heavy game.

Do you mean scary for us or the opposition?

I was thinking the same. Billy must have been reading CP and saw people calling Monahan soft.

as long as they can keep it simple, i doubt they'd be worse than some of the 3rd pairs Gulutzan used to toss out there (Jokipakka-Engelland, Bartkowski-Engelland, Bartkowski-Stone). Much like then (Kulak) it's so typical that they don't identify the available best option (Kylington).
