I was surprised Hamonic got no penalty for dropping em and huckin’ a couple at Helm. Thought at a minimum he’d get a roughing or something.

It's funny because Hammer didn't even see it happen...throw punches ask questions later. Plus, he hurt his hand before.

Well, whether he instigated it or not (he didn't start it all), he wasn't faking being hurt. he could barely make it to the room. Let me give you a two hander to the unprotected calf and we shall see if you think it's not hard at all.

My kid had his arm broken by a 13 year old slashing him. It doesn't take that much.

There's always at least one person who thinks they can get the whole picture from a video.

There's really no way the officials were going to hand the Red Wings a power play out of Helm's deliberate attempt to injure. If they had chosen to send Hamonic to the box, they likely would have ignored Lindolm's elbow. Or, they would have given Helm 2-5-G.

Also out of that sequence, hopefully the jackass fan who spat at Helm on the way out gets both a Saddledome ban and perhaps an assault charge out of it.

I think his first few steps and transitions are slower than Neal, but I think he has a faster top speed when he gets going.

Is Scheuermann's a guess or a fact? Hadn't heard that.

Watching the first lucic line goal biega takes like 3 looks over his shoulder while going into the boards only to see lucic coming at him full speed. That must have been a bad feeling so he just decides to peel away nope...

Growing up, Lucic attended Killarney Secondary in Vancouver.[9] He was a fan of the hometown Vancouver Canucks and has named forward Todd Bertuzzi as one of his favourite players when following the team.[10] At age 15, Lucic was diagnosed with Scheuermann's disease, a condition that can cause the upper back to curve and has given him a hunched-over posture.[2]

Here's where the rise from a real obstacle comes in.

"When I was 15, my mom noticed I couldn't straighten up. My back, it was crooked. Doctors did some tests and told me I had something called Scheuermann's disease. They tell me it's a condition that, while painless, causes the upper back to curve."

It's pretty impressive that he's managed to have such a good career while having to deal with that.

Back to back this week.

With my expectations of a guy that won't score but play two ways responsibly he's off to a good start.

12th in CF% at 51.28%
5th in shot splits at 57%
8th in xGF% at 56%
8th in HD splits at 55%

Tonight four shots, +1 and an assist ... gravy

Neal's start?

CF% at 49%
shot splits at 44%
xGF% at 46%
HD splits at 50%

On a 6-1 team

For some reason I was watching him closely in a defensive zone shift. He is quite good at picking up his assignment, switching off when appropriate, and assisting in the net front coverage. That, plus his passes yesterday, tells me his instincts and IQ are still there. His major downfall is a lack quickness (not even really a lack of speed once he is moving).

Eight goals one assist for nine points in seven games, on a team he's helped be 6-1.

Guessing you know I knew that?

A pretty good contingent was fine with Neal out scoring Lucic this year as long as Lucic was a better five on five bottom six player that played physical.

His stats suggest he's doing exactly that.

Summarizing counting stats doesn't change that view at all ... especially when Neal is doing it on a SH% heater.

You could argue Neal has helped out with that 6-1 start. You could also argue that they have that start with Chiasson, or some PTO signing, playing the same position on the PP and stuffing in the same rebounds.
