Wow those highlights were satisfying.

#### the Stars. Love that they burnt Benn trying to be too fancy.

I'm still kind of in shock that this game turned out the way it did, heh. Going to go relish in the post-game interviews. Hooray!

Didn't realize how much room Monahan had on his goal. The angle on the TV feed made it look like he threaded a needle. The Gaudreau move looks much more impressive from the top view camera where you can see better how fast he shifts from left to right.

Great road victory!!! Johnny hockey's shoot out goal was filthy!!!!

I must say that i wasn't sure if Rittich had what it takes to be a 1A goalie. I'm really starting to think I was wrong.

He did thread a needle, the angle you're seeing from that ac Clip makes it look like he had 8-10 inches of room but really he had about 4.

Love Rittich. This year it feels like he gets involved early with big saves (and the first period had a few great ones) and he gets in that zone like you've seen great goalies do. Last year it felt like Rittich played like a #1 but Smith believed he was the #1; this year there is no doubt. And by the way, Cam Talbot is not a bad #2.

Anybody else notice the excitement that Tkachuk had with Hanifin's goal? That guy just has captain written all over him - you get the feeling that Gio is the guy off the ice that everyone respects because of his work ethic and experience and then on the ice you've got Gio and Tkachuk who leads and fires everyone up.

Radulov is exactly what this team needs. Imagine if we had THAT $6M contract as opposed to #17.

Speaking of which, I don't want to re-hash the trade here because this is a positive night, but it's a tough one to put lipstick on, even with Flames-colored glasses. Neal didn't work here, but Lucic CAN'T work here. There's nothing good there to work with. That trade will never look good.

Finally, can we give it a rest on the officiating? Every team believes that they are victimized by the officials - EVERY team. I thought there were quite a few calls tonight that could/should have gone against us and didn't. Look at our three leaders in PIM this year - Lucic/Bennett/Brodie. Is anyone going to argue that these guys are intelligent, disciplined players? This is a very young team with several guys that consistently make dumb mistakes. The crying about officiating is pathetic.

I love/hate the games against Dallas because I feel like from a talent perspective they are both very similar teams. Heavy on high-end forwards, lacking overall forward depth, good young D-men. Very nice win to get tonight.

At least it wasn't the Stars tv feed, what a bunch of whiny homers those guys are. One of the worst in the NHL I have heard.

Right behind the Boston crew and Tampa Bay radio pair for ridiculous homerism.

The Flames where dominating play when the refs decided that they needed to hand out penalties to only one team. That's how Dallas pulled itself back into the game (even after that it was evenly played IMO).

If you watch the puck when it's on his stick, he casually takes it from the hashmarks to virtually the centre of the ice. Bishop doesn't move an inch which is what gives Monahan the angle. Simply a thing of beauty.

This bizarre narrative about the Flames supposed dearth of forward depth is already very tiresome. They are one of the deepest teams in the NHL; it is an exceptionally well constructed roster. I just don’t get it.

Couldn’t agree more on Bennett. That line should operate very simple. Get the puck deep, cycle it around, put pucks on net and crash an bang. NO dangles!

You sure about that? Doubtful.

Yup, agreed 100%. There was discussion in the game thread about the infamous toe drags; the sooner Sam realizes and accepts what his game is, the more successful he will become. The interesting thing is that when he plays a straightforward grinding game, the points will come. But the fact that he even tries a toe drag shows the immaturity in his game. Lucic is not toe dragging, neither should you Sam.

In the third, Mangiapane had the puck in the same position. He drove around, and at least the puck ended up somewhere near the net, and the play continued for a while (I think a line change was in order). Safe, with a possibility of something good.

Bennett's case - even if he pulls the puck around, he's still out near the blue line, with other defenders between him and the goal, and we all saw the high risk downside.

Bennett's 23. But so is Mangiapane.

I'd like to see Monahan given some PK time instead of Jankowski. I think he is the best face-off guy on the Flames right now. Monahan is also playing a lot better defensively and I believe he will rise to the challenge and improve his defensive game even further. Also, Monahan and Lindholm seem like they would constantly provide a short handed threat. Finally, I think that Jankowski has been the weakest link on a pretty good penalty kill.

What do you guys think?
