No, it’s cuz he is injury prone after last seasons concussion issues.

Based only on the prospect games I watched Pelletier has an outside shot of making the roster, if only for the 9 games.

I feel like he has all the skills necessary and might just be lacking some body size, but maybe that's not an issue for how he plays.

Pelletier looks like as good a Flames prospect as we've grown accustomed to over the last 5 years for first rounders.

I don't usually gush over a prospect but he was head and shoulders the best player on the ice for the prospect games.

Dube was better in the game he played. As he should be.

The difference between him and most of the other prospects was his work ethic in terms of hard starts and stops, tight turns, skating just as hard on the back-check as the fore-check.

Also making flat, soft, tape to tape passes between 5-25 feet.

From a skills perspective he's less polished that Dube but IMO, better.

He is definitely a player to watch. I think that he will need to gain a little strength to play the game he wants to play at an NHL level, but in almost every other way he will be challenging for a roster spot.

I wouldn't pay $100 either, but I'm more interested in the Victoria game because I get to watch a bunch of the prospects. I don't care as much to watch disinterested veterans in pre-season games.

Pelletier looks a lot like Mangiapane out there.
Small but not soft, skilled but not flashy, not fast but keeps up with the play just fine.

Sounds rather unexciting when you word it that way.

Didn’t mean any of it as a negative. Just that Pelletier doesn’t seem all that physically gifted or flashy

A lot of effective NHL players aren’t

You get used to it. Hopefully you're not in a time zone that makes viewing games really awkward.

Jankowski has promise but I hope this is right. I would like to see him make things happen on the ice more consistently. Too often he plays too conservative.

That might be the role he’s asked to play but make some plays Janko! Be even a little dynamic. In the playoffs he and Monahan (guys with size) didn’t use it - not just hitting but protecting the puck. There’s got to be competitive fire.
