A little shaky in that second set, but as she often does, Bianca channels her best tennis when it's needed most. 6-3 7-5 and into the 3rd round.

After Bianca wins on court 5, Shapo now plays on the same court, lets hope it stays friendly to Canadians

Also, these Sodastream commercials are making me miss the Australian bushbirds.

Simona Halep is in a battle with American Taylor Townsend, currently on serve at 1-1 in the third set.

Edit: Simona needs a new racquet as she just did her best Benoit Paire imitation.

Edit 2: Speaking of Paire, he lost to Bedene in five sets today.

I asked the other night when Nagal won that set with triple the errors as winners how often it happens. Ostapenko just outdid him winning a set with 10 winners and 28 (!!!) errors, including seven double faults in one game!

Oh man, Townsend had two match points, but Halep breaks back and is serving at 5-5 in set 3.

Wow. Shapo has managed to find an opponent who is even less consistent on first serve than he is.

Shapo blows a 0-40 lead on his opponent's serve but manages to win the fourth break point to take the first set 6-4. Pretty standard match for Denis so far... unfortunately, 50% first serves in isn't going to do well, unless you're facing a guy who's 54% first serve and wins fewer rallies.

Well, so much for the Bianca - Halep clash in round 4. Taylor Townsend pulls off a huge upset.

Yep. Now Wozniacki is the biggest issue standing between her and the semis, where she would face Osaka.

Laaksonen plays one of the worst tie breaks you'll ever see, and Shapo's up 2 sets to 0.

He's not playing badly, it's just the serve. 51% first serves in, and 95% of those won... If he could just get a few more in.

It was definitely a break for Shapo getting Laaksonen instead of Cecchinato, methinks Marco would be giving him a much tougher match.

If Denis can finish off Laaksonen, his next opponent is probably Monfils. Now that'll be a lot of fun. Also possible he eventually gets Kyrgios, which would be a good one too.

Pops drops the first set to Sandgren 6-3. Too many unforced errors (especially on the forehand side) for Vasek.
