Here's my truck in the lot of our hotel, after the mountain got 75cms in 24 hrs. It's a Tundra with a 3" lift and 33" tires on it, which should give you some perspective of he amount of snow that came down....
And one of me in the snow...
That week was Epic in Revy....I've never burned out so many belts, and gone through so much fuel from all the honkin we did on the throttles just to get around.

Pretty much all the pictures I've posted in this thread were taken with a Panasonic DMC FZ20 . . . . the newest version is a 10 megapixel FZ50 . . . . . but I've been using a Nikon D80 for the last four months.
Sunset by Nikon . . .

How do you find the D80? I use the D50 and am still trying to get use to the quality of picture it takes. My buddy just got the D200 and hs the 18-200 VR lense...gonna be one sweet setup!
Do you shoot RAW or Jpeg?

Experimenting with RAW a bit . . . . mostly JPEG. I have an 18-70 lense and a 70-300 lense right now. I'll start to fill in and amuse myself with some more expensive specialty lenses through the year.
I was going to buy the D200 but felt I didn't really need it. Price wasn't an issue.
I'm coaxing more colour and contrast from the D80 and I'm becoming more satisfied with it.

I have a 18-55, 55-200 and a 50mm. I tried the 70-300 lense but found it crapped out from 200-300 so I just went with the 200. I findthe 55-200 a great lense and I probabl use it the most out of all 3.
If you want a very quick and fairly cheap lense, I suggest you get the 50mm 1.8 lense. Man that thing is great!

Never posted a pic, so I'm gonna see how this one turns out. This pic was taken in Australia in Mossman Gorge.
Edit: Any idea why my picture won't post?

Upload it to a site such as flickr or photobucket, copy the link to the pic, then come on here and press the Insert Image button and paste the link into the dialog box that comes up.
Hope that helps.

From the properties, it looks like your trying to post the pic from your desktop.
Use somewhere like: http://www.allyoucanupload.com
or
http://photobucket.com
Once uploaded, just copy the link into the image button up top.

I was wary about distortion at the longer range on this somewhat cheaper lense but haven't seen it yet . . . . . for the price its been very good as per the photo below taken with, I think, full extension. But, as I said, as I march through the year, I'll gradually throw some money at a few things to ramp up the amusement level:

Nikon. A link with a description:

A cheaper way to get started but probably not the final answer by any means.
