What makes you so sure the families of the victims get answers or closure?

As was already mentioned, I'd expect a long, drawn out trial, with the families having to relive (or learn) horrific details of the deaths of their loved ones. And after all that, there's no guarantee about closure, or answers, or even justice. There's the possibility of a NCR verdict and the resulting sentence, which, IMO, would be far worse for the families of the victims than where we stand today.

"Senseless violence" doesn't get any more sensical because there's a trial.

I disagree with people saying we need answers.

What answers? They killed randomly, regardless of the reason. No possible reason could help the families of the victims, it would only help the general public and their need to know everything.

Yeah, no. Sorry Ozy, but having your macabre desire to get more details out out of these killers denied is not "the worst". While there is emotional value to being able to look your relative's killer in the face and show them what they have wrought, I'll bet most everyone will be satisfied to know they can't kill anyone else.

Bodies found in northern Manitoba believed to be 2 B.C. fugitives: RCMP

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manit...ment-1.5239053

Quote:
Police in Manitoba believe they have found the bodies of the two B.C. fugitives, Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky, in northern Manitoba.

The bodies were discovered Wednesday morning at approximately 10 a.m. local time in dense brush, approximately a kilometre from where items linked to the fugitives were found along the Nelson River.

An autopsy will take place in Winnipeg to confirm the identities and determine the cause of death, she said.

These men took the lives of other humans, and escaped the arms of justice, when it was publicly known they wanted to die. It sure looks like these boys "won" in what they were aiming to do.

While I am also relieved the ordeal is over, how anyone can have a macabre enjoyment out of this - hilarious or otherwise - is just pure lunacy. I don't see how more bodies is ever the answer to an already sad series of events.

I am sure the families would love to have more information and questions answered. There is nothing macabre about wanting that.

Well I am sure the families are glad they are dead and can't hurt anyone else. So who is right?

While I don't think it's "good" that they killed people and then ran off into the bush to die, it's a better outcome than (A) them killing more people or (B) suicide by cop. I am glad that no officer has to live with killing them for the rest of his/her life.

I'm pretty sure it's standard to have the bodies identified by a family member and an autopsy to confirm cause of death, I don't think that points to them getting eaten by a bear.

Single gunshot wounds to the head would be my guess. Probably ran out of food and could hear/see that the search for them was still ongoing so they shot themselves (or one shot the other and then himself).

If it turns out these two were murdered as well, won't that be a twist in the plot line...

We seem to basing the "wanted to die" thing on the ramblings of a mentally unstable estranged father. Wouldn't put a lot of stock into that.

Kudos to the RCMP and search teams -- don't think they could have handled this any better.

If they could see/hear the search then they would have heard the gunshot.

They have either been dead before the search happened, or they died quietly.
