Not that I'm cheering for them or anything; I hope they are caught soon and before anyone else gets hurt, but credit where it's due: They must be a couple 'o tough little buggers.

Yeah, tough and stupid. Do they think they’ll elude the police forever?

Tough buggers?

The poor babies killed a couple and old man because some meanies called them names. They are the exact opposite of tough.

Having not run from the police myself, I can’t be sure, but I doubt whether they can or can’t is really a topic of discussion for them. Trying their best to do so for as long as possible is probably the goal.

I doubt they’re under any illusion that their run is going to go on forever. If you’ve already murdered at least two people, #### it, run your ass off I guess.

Regardless, if they were stupid they would have been caught by now.

Hopefully the buggers each catch a chunk of lead between the eyes

Oh give it up, I'd be just as happy to see them eat lead myself, but I've been out and about many, many times in similar terrain and it would be tough slogging. The bugs, the terrain, the lack of food, etc. I hope they're downright miserable, but regardless, they are a couple of kids in the bush with, by all accounts, very little and are eluding some pretty serious folks with some pretty serious technology.

Don't get all righteous.

You'd have to wonder, if you're wanted for multiple murders, and at the least, you'd expect a nationwide manhunt for you, the best strategy would to flee to central/south america.

laying low in Canada and expecting the hunt to die down isnt a good plan

That window has passed, unless Gillam has an international airport offering direct flights to Quito.

Mountie had them pulled over after blowing a checkstop and didn't know they were wanted at the time. I'm surprised that RCMP wouldn't be armed at all at a checkpoint, even if they're just checking for liquor/drugs.

Article is incorrect, they were band Constables not RCMP.

Makes absolutely zero sense that the Mounties weren't armed or wearing a vest. Something doesn't add up with that story.

Edit - I defer to Zulu on that, missed his post.

That's a pretty big inaccuracy.

This seems to confirm that these kids are just running scared. I read something about how another guy in Alberta (Cold Lake) helped them get their car unstuck -- obviously before he knew who they were. If these guys were just on a killing spree, that guy could have very well been another victim as well.

Yeah, I really can't wrap my head around this one. The two suspects' actions have been so inconsistent yet it seems like the RCMP have zero indication of where they are, which is evident by sending so many personnel on a wild goose chase in York Landing off of one tip.

I know there's no point trying to understand their thought process but I'm very curious as to why they would kill three people in quick succession and then just stop. That Band constable is very fortunate he's alive.

That terrain is tough. I can't imagine them lasting very long. Good luck when winter comes.....in October.

Interesting how the band constable said he pulled them over, and somehow they slipped by. I'm sure the band guys and all the locals there know 80% of the people there and given the remoteness, two teenage white kids randomly up there would stick out like a thumb. Then, another member of this community police force apparently saw them by the garbage dump, but again they vanished before the guy could get the 200m over there. ..and after causing a stir and bringing in a bunch of resources, the RCMP have pulled out of that town saying there is no proof they were ever there.

Really hope there wasn't any hyperbole/grandstanding/outright deception by this group to bring them some sort of fame and attention to them in all this.
