Really hope the Flames don't sign Maroon unless its for under $1.5 MM. Anything more and if he comes in and sucks, Treliving should be shown the door.

I was sure there was a report a couple days ago that said the Flames would not be pursuing Maroon.

Friedman on 960 said he heard the latest rumor about the Flames being interested in Maroon is incorrect and unlikely to happen.

I am sure the NHL is already working on fixing this issue. At the same time, at least we don't need to go through a few days of "where will Brad Richards sign" anymore... most things get done early and then GMs can go into summer mode early.

I'm actually more excited to see what happens July 2nd. With the cap not going up as much as people thought there could be some good deals to be had
