Thing is, this one I generally get, because he's not coming for 2 years, AND you don't have any control over his development in the meantime. So even if you ignore the usual anti-Russian bias, there are totally legitimate reasons for Podkolzin to drop.

Caufield is probably a 30 goal scorer during his ELC period. He's better than Debrincat, and I was a huge booster for Debrincat during that draft. Still can't believe how far he fell.

Huh. Pretty surprised honestly. I mean it's not a bad pick but this just tells you that Vancouver doesn't think they're going to be competitive for a little bit (which is probably accurate).
