				 2019 Raptors = 2004 Flames - Agree?

Did I miss more?
Personally, the Raptors' finals appearance is my '04 Flames moment. Only became a Flames fan since April 2015 and my favourite NBA team is the Raptors. Fan since 2012...

Raptors were a favorite to start the season.
Flames werent even supposed to make the playoffs that year.

Nooe. Raps are not Cinderella here. No one in the micro NBA media universe is or has been selling them short despite their recent playoffs flops. This is likely the best chance the raps will ever have of winning a title. Unless of course this Mark's T.O as a go to spot for players now. Then the exact opposite will happen where this could open up multiple runs for the Raps. And I hope they do. For the global effect it will have.
More I think about it as I am typing, the two teams have zero correlation to each other. And Kawhi is like getting Prime Gretzky on a good Flames 80s team. The player that tips the scales.

Not the same. It's a little confusing because the Warriors are a dynasty. Would it be a Cinderella win if the Raptors won the title? Absolutely. Was anything leading up to getting into the finals Cinderalla? Not even close.
So to sum up, their run to the finals was heavily predicted, they were the favourites. But now in the finals they are like the Flames in '04 in the finals.

With Durant injured I don’t think it qualifies as a huge upset. They have the best player in the series on a historic playoff pace.

The Flames hadn't made the playoffs in 7 years...Raps have been one of the best teams in the East for years and then added a top 3 player

The Raptors are the not Flames, because I don't care about the Raptors and I do care about the Flames.

Well the question was crafted purposefully to include the local hockey heroes. So.... take that?

this is one of the most laughable comparisons I've ever seen
anyway the answer is certainly not. the Raptors have a very long playoff steak, the Flames hadn't made it for eight years before 2004. the Raptors have a bunch of huge names who have been relevant for years... Leonard, Lowry, Gasol, Ibaka, Lin. the Flames had Olympic hero Iginla and... Gretzky Trade Gelinas?

ummm you are missing one of the greatest goalies of all time. and Lin is worse than James Neal.

but the comparison is laughable. The Raptors were 2nd in the league. Hence why they have home court advantage.

Ah yes, I see the resemblance. They are also a sports team who had a good year, has a top player, and many fans.

I wasn't talking about quality of players. Kiprusoff was still basically a no-name and Lin is one of the most recognizable basketball players in the world.
