Sebastian Aho. The last player on the Canes you want to give a freebie to, and then Mr. Game 7 makes Lehner pay.
That one's gonna hurt Lehner for a long time.

Of course, in retrospect, but AHO makes a great play to knock it out of mid air.

Tough to fault the goalie on a great play by AHO.

Yes it was a great play by Aho, but he could've also chose to send it up the other side of the boards where there was no immediate forecheck.

Point is, don't give any chance for the other team's best player to burn you.

I'm getting more and more pissed off knowing how poorly our Flames played this playoffs after watching teams like the Hurricanes. They battle and truly come in at speed and in waves. Flames looked tired, uninspired, and scared. This core of ours worries me a tad to say the least.

Carolina is looking very, very impressive.
they play fast and have a good fore check game... definitely thought this would be a closer series than this.

i didn't think they'd sweep and though NYI would take advantage of Marzek being out...

Hurricanes are such a weird franchise. They don't make the playoffs often, but when they do, they go far.

Canes vs Jackets could prove to be a very interesting conference final, considering it's the two wild card teams.

Pretty much bizzarro Flames. Well sort of.... we make the playoffs sometimes but we almost never go far.

And two wild fan bases of college football/basketball fans who don’t really know hockey but think nhl playoffs are awesome. That’s not a knock btw... I’ve been to some of those games and the atmosphere is amazing.

I have been steering clear of this place due to the negativity but the constant lynching of Monahan is ridiculous.

You basically are saying we lost because of Monahan. Every member of the Flames 70+ point club was brutal in the playoffs.

Maybe it is time for a new narrative? Peters moves on from the Hurricanes and the team is poised for the conference finals when he couldn’t get his team ready and they got spanked by a team 17pts lower in the standings than them?

Lots of blame to go around for this team failing. The Flames haven’t had a 82 point center in over 2 decades and it has been a steady 2 weeks of many people trying to run him out of town.

Acknowledging the downfalls of our team is not "self pitty". If you think Mr Tap in rebounds and only take one timers from Gaudreau is a #1 centre than all you are doing is stat watching. I dont see how anyone can watch the Flames regularly and come to the conclusion that Monahan is a #1 centre that the flames can win with in the playoffs other than stat watchers or homers. Monahan is very skilled and a very smart player but when the game gets fast and hard hitting he is very out of his league he has no speed or dynamic ability to win games. Thinking that our centre depth (especially our #1C) is not a problem after losing in 5 games to a 90 point team just means you are delusional frankly. U can show me his point totals all you want but he doesnt pass the eye test. Theres plently of other players who put up lots of points who arent considered elite or "#1 centres". Monahan was probably the worst #1C out of any other team in the playoffs other than maybe Vegas and Nashville (even than both the centres for those teams are fast and can create plays and have good playoff records unlike Monahan).

Monahan is not a play driving #1c. Put him on a line with two lesser players and he does not elevate them, he drops to their level. But his shot let's him flourish with great passers. If Monahan was a winger, he'd be perfect.
