So anybody have any ideas on how to get us over the playoff hump next season? We have a pretty good team, as the regular season proved. But we're clearly missing some of those playoff intangibles, like toughness, speed, and tenacity.

At this point I'm not opposed to trading a couple of soft players like Monahan and Brodie to try and fill some of those holes. Thoughts?

Trading Monahan, Jankowski, and Brodie should be something the team seriously considers imo

Hard to disagree with Ron McLean on the disallowed goal.

If there's one big change i would be okay with, it would be trading Monahan and signing Matt Duchene to replace him. That would actually have been totally viable, except that the Lightning #### the bed. Now Duchene will likely re-sign in Columbus and if he does hit the open market he'll be worth probably 9M AAV. Say what you want about Monahan, he is still way underpriced.

The real solution would have been getting Duchene at the deadline, which was totally possible. Standing pat was a mistake, both at the time and in retrospect.

His low AAV should fetch the flames more!

I've never been so disappointed in having a player on my team. Get out of here or grow a pair.
you see your check at the offensive blueline and instead of engaging you swing your stick in their direction and stop skating when he heads down the ice on a rush, you're deep in the offensive zone on a powerplay but take the dumbest route to the scrum so you both lose the battle and leave the defender wide open for a clear, on the same powerplay you're next to the defender and he's pinned on his own boards and instead of battling for the puck or taking a step to gain body position you stand next to him and let him freeze it for a faceoff, etc etc

We got zero favors from the officials in the series.

Just saw the replay of Johnson wrapping his arm around Bennett making the goalie contact unavoidable.

Officials sure bought into the Avs excellent acting all series.

A key game 2 call that altered the game, a key game 4 call that altered the game, a goal ruling that stymied the Flames momentum tonight.

Maybe we Didn't play well enough to deserve it, but amazingly you tweak a few decisions and this could be a 3-2 flames series. Can't always rely on the breaks though.

Sorry but this doesn't make any sense to me. For once, goaltending was not an issue in a Flames playoff series.

Hahahahaha. Lacking playoff experience. I’d bet money they have more playoff experience than the Avs

Hrudey defending a goalie on a goalie interference call? I'm shocked!

It's not about bigger it's about getting guys that have speed, skill and grit for the playoffs. Guys that do anything to win.

I'm a biased Flames fan but I think Ron was 100% right on Gaudreau's goal.

He needed to do some actual coaching after the game 3 debacle. Instead he didn't change anything at all. Down the stretch when the top line was crap he didn't change a damn thing. Plays Neal way too much, hem sits him and plays his replacement 3 minutes.

Contact or not, Grubauer turned and made a play. Good goal.
