I'm trying to be positive. I don't know if I have enough left in my emotional reserves for more. 29 years of disappointment are really keeping me guarded this year. I got super high and excited for the playoffs and then we see this kind of effort.
I really really want them to prove the naysayers wrong though.

The Aves have caught lightning in a bottle and are playing with so much confidence and probably feel like they can take on the entire empire. Flames need game five to knock them down a peg or two so they start second guessing themselves. This series is still a whole lot of what the Flames aren't doing right vs what Colorado is doing right.
The other thing I have learned over this season is Walt seems like he has ice in his veins. While the rest of Matt's family are wearing their emotions on sleeves, Walt is jsut sitting there all stoic.

Regular season Lightning or playoff Lightning? Hopefully the latter.

I feel like the team should actually respect the Avs less. Seems like they are giving the opposing team too much credit. Yes, their top line is good but there’s a reason we went 3-0 against them in the regular season. Don’t let this current streak of theirs get into your heads. You’re the better team, know it, and play like it.

I'm watching the SHL playoffs right now. Färjestad, Håkan Loobs old team, was down 3-1 in the series against Djurgården. Tonight it's game 7 with Färjestad leading 1-0 after the first period, after puttning up blowout wins in game 5 and 6. It happens, and it can still happen with the flames. Who knows when the tide turns, maybe Johnny puts up 6 points next game.

Game against Pittsburgh? Ha! Same as in game 3!!!!
Game against the Caps they lost in SO (game 4 they lose in OT) But in both cases a better effort but not there yet.
Next 2 games against Leafs and Sabres (when they were a top team) Flames beat them.
So that's a 3 and 3 record in those 6 games.
Now for the icing on the cake, the 7th game of that stretch was played against... Drum roll please! Yup, the Avs!!! The game Flames came back from a 4-1 deficit to start the third to win 6-5.
I still Billieve!

It would be so crazy to come back force game 7 then make an epic comeback to win that game.
Considering the Flames are the top seed, have owned the Avs before this series, and would get 2 of the next 3 at home gives me hope. Right now the Avs have a ton of confidence and it takes one game for the Flames to get theirs
Back and put some doubt in the mind of the Avs players.
Frolik talked about when the Hawks came back from 3-1 down agains the Wings in 2013 (Peters was an assistant for the Wings). He said that team just refused to believe they were going to lose and found a way to win. This years Flames team has been the most consistent and resilient group I have watched as a fan. I desperately want to believe they can overcome this and hopefully leads them to a similar result as the 2013 Hawks

Allow them nothing.
Exert your will and put doubt in 'em.
Go Flames!

I realize people need to vent but that post game thread is ridiculous. Still believe the Flames can win and hopefully will trend upwards through the playoffs.

I don't share your positivity, but I appreciate it.
I mean, rationally, yes, the Flames can win this.
They CAN be A LOT better. I don't think the Avs can.

The Flames have, indeed, won 3 games in a row before.

And two of those games are at home. We can do this. Actually, let me rephrase that. We can do this providing the officials give us a chance to.

We need to give ourselves a chance to win. Can't rely on the officials. Good teams overcome adversity, even poor officiating.

We need to rely on ourselves but saying bad calls don't effect the outcomes of games is just blatently false. Last night is a prime example, without those weak calls and the calls that were obvious on Gaudreau and Valimaki we win that hockey game. The poor officiating directly effected the outcome of the game.

Heja Färjestad! My old hometown once upon a time, Karlstad (more specifically Skåre). Sadly, not a great outcome.

As 'One of the Nine' I have to make my bold prediction against the odds that the Flames make it through this. Cliche's galore but it starts with one shift at a time, not allowing for soft/timid play. Take it to them and help each other out. Win at home which has already been done, totally doable. Then get another crack at Denver.

Going on a winning streak when you think the team has hit a new low has been what the Flames have done all year. I'm in for another one
