[GT] Game 3. Flames vs Avs

Two periods left guys. I would like to revert everyone's attention back to game 3 in 2008 or even game 6 in 2015. Both were early 3-0 leads for the bad guys. Both times the flames chipped away, came back and one. This is far from over. Keep the faith! Go flames go!

Biggest fear is being proven for all of us to witness. Team is not built for the tight checking compete level of the playoffs.

Through the first 7.5 periods of hockey in this series they've dominated for a 5/10 minute stretch in the 2nd period of the 1st game, other than that ALL Avs.

This team is in serious trouble, whether they come back on the Avs or not.

This is the shoe we’ve been waiting to drop all year. This is why the fan base was so jittery despite the great regular season. Because we all feared that this was what we were gonna see from the Flames.

I think that it's more the Avs just dominating rather than the Flames being complete garbage.

Give them some credit, the Avs have had a hell of a start.

3-0 is right where we want them. Let's get dirty in the 2nd boys. Give the refs something actually good to call!

This sure feels like one of those slumps where it seems like the Flames are never going to win again. The Avs have just been so much better in every facet the last two games that it seems like it's going to be five and out unless something changes drastically.

I've come to not expect any drastic changes as a Flames fan.

After losing game 2, a game they were clearly the second best team on the ice and yet somehow had a lead with 3 minutes remaining thanks to stellar goaltending and a bit of a fluke goal - yet somehow they blow the lead and lose in OT... the Flames said they would be better, would be more aggressive, would be smarter and put in a full effort. They proved that by playing possibly their worst period in months, certainly their worst period in the playoffs so far.

If that’s them trying their best, this series is over. They need to prove in the next two periods that they belong in the playoffs. Their opposition is the team with the worst record of all playoff teams, yet they are being completely dominated by them. If they can’t even look respectable against this Avs team, how would they look against a team that actually does have more than 1 or 2 skilled players? How would they looked against the Sharks or Vegas? It would be men against boys.

Time to step up, or step out boys. Put up or shut up.

Seems dire but they’ve have to try to salvage something from this game

i'm just hoping that they can play better than that. calgary's transition game has been completely shut down and they can't handle the avs rushes at all. avs looking dangerous every time they go up the ice and the flames sputtering and giving the puck away whenever they reach the offensive blue line

Flames notorious for always taking a period off and the Avs are notorious for only playing in one of them. It's not over until it's over
