Just took a look at the game day thread on the Avs board and they're mocking us for idolizing Iggy of all people? Must be some ignoramus who never heard of him until he signed with their trash team. Anyway, if you need extra reasons to hate them, there you go lol

Why stop there? Please feel free to review all of the possible ways the Flames could choke this series away.

Bennett is such a likable guy that seems to have struggled to really find "his spot". Anytime he gets close to finding his groove as a skilled in your face guy, something sets him back. I won't be surprised to see him mentioned as one of the key impact players for the flames in these playoffs if he stays healthy!

I have concerns about Johny being able to elevate to playoff style hockey against a sharks or knights team but expect an amazing series from him against the Avs

Anyone else just a little worried that the Flames are going to outwork and outchance the Avs tonight only to lose the goaltending battle? I'm trying to remain positive but the closer it gets to the game the more I'm starting to get a little nervous about Smith letting in a soft goal at a bad time. It sure would be great if he could have one last run in these playoffs and hopefully he can rise to the occasion like he did in Phoenix.

We can beat the Avalanche with average goaltending and perhaps even a soft goal against with our forwards and D playing the way we know they can. If the O is dry and we get average goaltending, it could be a tough series.

It is round 2 where goaltending can't be average no matter how good the O is imo.

No sense fretting about the goaltending as there’s no fixing it now so hope for the best and that’s all you can do.

Been hyped all day and am going to pound 10+ beers at the Dome tonight. Can't wait. Let's go!

The Flames match-up extremely well with the Avalanche and should have no problem dominating them, especially at home.

- The Avalanche will clog up the neutral zone to try and force the Flames into dump-and-chase hockey. Don't get frustrated if it doesn't work every time. Stick with the process and you will be rewarded.
- MacKinnon is a top-five one-on-one transition player in the league. He is so explosive so the Flames have to keep good gaps and angles. Shut him down and the Avalanche's only hope is a heroic goaltending performance.
- Mike Smith needs to keep his composure and not try and be a hero behind the net. Lessen defencemen getting run, but you don't have to touch the puck every single time it gets dumped in.
- Regardless of Flames goalie, stay compact with the puck in tight and tighten up laterally. Possible target on Grubauer, though?

Johnny needs to channel that open ice creativity in the offensive zone.

Barzal had a chance in OT last night that illustrated what I am talking about.

Do not want Johnny forcing things and especially carrying the puck in his own zone whether on the PP or 5-5, do not like.

You crush your exam and emerge to find the Flames with a nice lead in the game.

on a business trip this week, been hard to get immersed into playoff time.

Just got back to the hotel. Going to put on a flames shirt and go hit a bar for dinner/drinks, still unclear where I'm watching this thing here (small town NY)....

Hope the flames come out with some mojo, and are clicking offensively.

Dear God... please let the flames goaltending be good.
