What in the hell is John Garrett going on about? He just said that Martin Jones has a reason to smile because he signed a new five year deal.

The Jets must be happy. Instead of playing two good and desperate teams to defend home ice they will face Ari without their top G and Colorado who is a pretty sure thing for the last WC.

No whoever wins the central will face a red hot stars team.

But if you fall to 2nd or 3rd you may face the Blues. Is Nashville the preferable opponent for everyone? Weren't they supposed to be the biggest contenders?

Stars have three game breaking forwards and a goalie (actually two) that can steal games.
Far from ideal.

The Canucks just took a 3-2 lead on the SJ Sharks. They have not beaten them in regulation since 31 March, 2016.

If St Louis wins tomorrow, there will be a three-way tie for first in the Central, with all teams having 2 games remaining. Winnipeg has the edge in the tie-breaker, but anything could happen.
After leading the Division for most of the season, the Jets could drop to third and lose home-ice in the last two games of the season.
Meanwhile, the Blues went to bed on January 1 in 31st place overall. Now, they still have a chance to win their Division.

Those "red hot" Stars have a 5-3-2 record in their last ten games.

The Sharks now have one win in their last ten, and have not won in regulation since 12 March. Talk about backing in to the playoffs.

LA get the empty net.
Does this eliminate the Coyotes officially?

No, if the Avs lose their last two and Yotes win theirs, they can be ahead in ROW.

Good news for Coyotes is that Winnipeg has something to play for vs Col. But the Jets may still have something to play for against Arizona Saturday, where Colorado gets the slumping Sharks who have nothing to play for.
Coyotes need to win out and have Col lose out gaining zero points.

This is how they entered the playoffs in 2016 and lost to the Oilers. Vegas will rip them to pieces.

Not necessarily, if Subban is the starter.

No. It's not quite a fatal loss but it is a crippling one. Their chances of making it now have gone from slim to almost fat.
