I thought Monahan made a really nice play on Tkachuk's goal.

Which should be taken with a grain of salt since you had Neal's knee issue diagnosed as a shoulder problem.

i wouldn't be surprised if Monahan's playing through something right now.

I was thinking the same thing about Monahan. It is eerily similar to near the end of last season when he was playing injured. I hope I am wrong.
Gaudreau has been taking more punishment lately too.

Hopefully smith is indeed ok.
Question, what would the flames options be had smith got injured?
Parsons/Gillies call-up to back up?
Is it often we see goalie waiving post deadline?
Other??

They could make a trade for a goalie, but whoever was acquired wouldn't be eligible to play in the playoffs.

I'm not sure the player wants to miss out on a chance to contribute to a Cup after missing out two straight years. I wouldn't.

I don't always love his shot choices on the PP, no doubt. He has improved this year for sure, which I'm assuming is Ward coaching, but his shot choice on the 5 on 3 tonight was atrocious.

But, but, according to the MSM and Hockey insiders:
The Sharks are the most awesomest hockey players on the planet,
The Predators are the Stanley Cup Favorites for the next decade,
And the Jets are a Western Juggernaut which cannot be stopped by mere mortals.

This is quite an impressive stat...
https://twitter.com/user/status/1100749925644726272
The fastest the Flames have ever reached 20 wins at home and on the road in a season.
That's a balanced team.

Backlund has been stellar these last few weeks. And honestly I didn't even notice Tkachuk was on a cold spell for goals simply because he was still a positive playing on Backlund's line.
Last night I was thinking to my self there probably isn't a better player to be our 2nd line center than Backs.
Great veteran leader for this team who can score and knows how important this time of year is.
Happy to have him. Really glad we never went through with trading him a couple years ago.

Does anyone know the actual home/road win/loss record?

If Monahan is injured he should be sat and rested for the playoffs. We have enough depth to win games without him in the regular season which feels weird to say.

They’d shut him down if he was. No reason to not have everyone healthy. The worst case outcome is having to play Vegas in the first round which while not great would be less damaging than non-100% players

Yeah, maybe I just got to used him and Gaudreau playing next level.
