Toyota Tundra Commercials
These are the ones on every sportsnet commercial with the guy impersonating Van Helsing and quoting fortune cookies. It is now to the point where I mute the sound when it comes on.
I have no idea what this is supposed to have to do with a truck, and quite frankly, has coloured my opinion of Toyota Tundra's. The product must be a complete joke because the commercials are absolute crap. They must be so embarrassed by the quality of their product that they try to mis-direct our attention to Van Helsing's understudy.
Anyone else irritated by these?
I'd rather see the Canadian Tire guy back than watch another one of these gems.

Agree 100%. Is that guy supposed to be tough or cool? He comes across as neither to me. Horrible, horrible commercial.

Hahaha, shows how much I pay attention to ads, I thought that was a GM campaign.
Yeah, horrid commercials.
But still not as bad as any beer commercial, it feels great to be talked down to like you're an animal.

I think that the Japanese still have a lot of say in the making of some of these commercials. While being tortured by the commercial in question, I actually had an image of Hiro from Heroes yelling enthusiastically: "Van Helsing cowboy super number one!"

Thanks for starting this thread, I mute these Ads as well. I was thinking about ranting last night about them (but after the Flames loss I would have used more colorful language ).
They almost make me want to have the stupid Flamingo commercial back...on second thought...

I was thinking of making a thread on this too, what an awful series of commercials.
Also, if these commercials were heavily influenced by the HQ in Japan, they'd be a hell of a lot better. Japanese advertising is a lot more subtle than NA ones for the most part, and not nearly as pushy.
The worst part is they are so short, they can jam 2-3 in a segment, which makes it all the more annoying.

Ehehe, thought it was a GM commerical too. I don't mind the commerical that much actualy. I have a nuclear powered hatred for the Telus and Panago commercials but am suprisingly ok with this one.
I remember once in a marketing class, my teacher saying that some commercials are intended to annoy you as it will make you more likely to remember it. I dunno, maybe it's just me but if I find a commerical REALLY annoying, I will go out of my way to not purchase their product.
I also HATE the worse case scenario commercials. You know the ones that are like " OH NO!! Has this ever happened to you!?!?!" and some lady is fighting with a vacum bag and dust and crap is getting everywhere? Odds are no, this has not happened to anyone else. Ever.

Well hopefully you don't build dynamite then, it wouldn't work to well if you built it with passion.

Every time I see those Toyota Tundra commercials with that guy I want to smash his smug face in with a tire iron.

I don't hate them as much as the Panago ones. At least there are a few different ones of these, with Panago it is the same frigging commercial 15 times per game.

I've tried that steak and blue cheese pizza twice now (not because of the adds but because I like steak and I like blue cheese and I like pizza). Not that good.

Awful commercials. 100% cheese.
They are trying to pull off the tough truck image and it is making them look ridiculous. I cant believe this guy keeps a straight face while trying to portray an image that just doesnt work.
Great thread, I was debating starting one of these last night as well.

Those Bombardier ones sure are annoying...If Bombarider's such a great company, why can't they win that many Canadian contracts? Secondly, if people wreck other people's pictures, trip skiers or walk off the van on a safari trip, they'd be punched in the face, here or in Europe.
