If we can't do the same, it won't matter if Kreider is physical.

Not arguing that it would be a huge factor in re-signing, but I think they're pretty close; when Hayes has been on spitting chicklets, he's talked about Johnny like they're pretty close.

I’m very on the fence on how I’d feel about moving Brodie mid season. Mostly because of chemistry, and he plays top 4 for us. But if we were to miss him, it wouldn’t be because of his ability to tighten up defensively.

I still don't believe that these are significant factors in a player's decision to sign a life-altering deal. Whether or not Kevin Hayes is playing in Calgary is probably fairly low on Gaudreau's list of contributing points when contemplating his hockey future.

I was talking about Hayes and the odds of being able to extend him if we pick him up.

I think knowing a couple guys on our team would help that process out.
