After all the negative stuff that the press wrote, and Hitchcock spout less than a week and a half ago, it is blatantly obvious that someone gave the edict down to be sickeningly positive.

It all started with Nicholson on CBC radio of all things to kick it off. Hitch has talked about being the team that's playing the best of the bottom WC playoff teams, and that they played their best game in weeks vs Ari. Garbage that even he doesn't believe because they haven't played any better, and weeks ago he was ripping them for the same level of play.

Keith Gretzky getting nothing but praise for doing dufus for dufus moves and shufflingTitanic deck chairs this past week.

A total 180 PR spin over the fallout after Chia leaving and the team still losing, likely to give a totally different appearance to the slow burning tire fire.

Surprised. I thought for sure that McCheapshot's head-hit would have been awarded the "Hit of the Game."

The Oilers are just so bad in their own end. Islanders have barely been in that zone this period but as soon as the puck goes past their blueline it's a fire drill.

The tired Isles still have a little wind left in them. The Oilers getting praise on Twitter for playing okay against a team on a back to back

Lou and his hotel trick dont look so great now.

Did CP figure out which hotel? Teams usually stay at the Westin or Sheraton downtown. And what sort of Neal autograph signing was randomly taking place on a weeknight?

Trotz about Hitch........'we're a lot alike........'

Back to Kevin Quinn 'yeah, they both win.......'

I actually had to rewind my PVR to make sure I heard that right. Might want to include some context in your comment Kevin.

NYI are the definition of a high PDO team. They are winning the cup this season. It will be sweet to see Kommie raise the cup.

Pathetic from the Isles. 9 shots in last 40 minutes.

They managed to replace their constipated old man announcer with a more nasal-y constipated old man.

The Canucks are content with the 1-0 lead that they have had since the first period, same score after forty minutes. Kuemper has made 25 saves so far and that is the reason it remains close.

The Bruins are arguably the second best team in the league so if you ain't getting home ice I think WC1 is a better spot.

Haha haha. WC1 would play the Isles in the first round.

NYI lose in OT...

Well, you can't win them all... or in the Oilers case, lose them all.

i'd be more than happy to see them finish 10 last so they don't get a high pick...

As much as I love to see the Oilers lose I would prefer they win enough games down the stretch to reduce their draft lottery odds.

And with that epic win, Edmonton moves from 14th in the west to ...... 14th in the west. Here come the Oilers.

3 of 14 points in their last 7 home games. All 3 points in OT.

Very special.
