Best part of that podcast is how Staples thinks that AHL call up was "lighting it up in the AHL" and should be given a bunch more ice time...
Currie's AHL stats? 49 game, 37 points. For context, Curtis Lazar is AHL All Star on a 46g 36pt pace with the Heat...
The NHLe for Currie? 29 NHL points... talk about desperation.
This isn't meant to slam Lazar, I am hoping for him to come back and become a solid third liner/Pker for Calgary... but his upside is looking like 3rd liner

I can’t be the only one that is thinking this whole Connor is sick thing was dreamed up by the Oilers so they can have a built in excuse when Coughy McDayquil doesn’t win the Art Ross trophy this year. Gotta save face however they can.

Not only will he be traded this coming off-season, but the Oilers will be on the hook retaining a fair chunk of salary.
