I just want to hear it called down the middle which Ball does
Homerism is lame

Tied after one period. I am OK with that. Flames played well. Keep it up. Hope Gio is all right.

Time for Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm to take the game over.

Score aside I thought the Flames played very well. Only noticeable Penguin was Crosby and I can live with that. I liked what I saw of the Bennett-Jankowski-Czarnik line... this is the kind of usage I had in mind for Czarnik before Peters kept alternating between our two checking line. Unfortunate hit, IMO looked dirty, but I hope that line sticks together.

Meanwhile the Pens crew was milking themselves over the home team's goal for the entire remainder of the period.

Earlier they did dish a little Flames love though at least.

That had some good jump earlier in the period but Pittsburgh did a better job as neutralizing them as the period went on. I think they'll be coming out flying in the 2nd.

Damn good road period by the Flames. 3rd and 4th lines looking especially good, and the 3M line had a couple of good shifts as well.

1st line looked great on their first couple of shifts, but disappeared after that. We need more from those guys if we're gonna win this one.

American hockey broadcasts are always like this unless it’s a national televised game.

NHL officiating is the worst. Their influence on the outcome of games in a negative way is unreal.

PIT seemed to be getting chances in the middle or later in the period coming through the middle. CGY needs to take that away.

Overall a great period so keep it up. Skate and draw some penalties and just battle hard.

Default Flames @ Pens

That goal against I actually put some blame on the coaches.

Monahan and Gaudreau were sent out too early. Monahan didn’t pressure the point at all, so that’s on him 100%, but he shouldn’t have been on the ice yet. That’s cutting corners on the PK. Don’t stop putting PK’ers out until the penalty is over.

That’s an “attention to details” issue right there.

Yeah I don't know how that's not interference.

What are the refs doing in moments like that? Wake up!

I really want the Flames to win. The past 4 games have sucked.

You can't take the man when he hasn't reached the puck. Pettersson had plenty of time to play the puck before Czarnik would have reached it.
