Mid-season Re-rates and Re-start

OK kids,

A lot of thought went into this year's mid-season re-rates and if/how to do them.

Here's what we came up with.

We wanted to recognize players that had graduated to the NHL or taken a step forward this year, while not drastically impacting the competiveness of the teams.

So here's what we did:
- No player 74 OVR or above was considered for re-rates. This keeps each team's core relatively in place
- In general no player was moved up to 74 or above, there may have been one or two exceptions here.
- No player rated 50s across the board were re-rate as it is the GMs discretion when to request those re-rates.
- In general we looked at:
1. Rookies that had made the NHL this year and established themselves
2. Returning Euro players
3. Other misc players that suddenly made the NHL (e.g. Chicago's Jeff Hamilton)
4. Players NO longer in the NHL.

You will basically find that for some of you, your depth players have moved up/down, but your core remains in place.

Other notes:
- The roster file has been updated on the site. Please download to submit your lines
- Games re-start Tuesday
- Each team has been rested two off days for the Xmas break. Check your injury status.

And lets not forget this rule:

Fining General Managers
GMs will be fined $500,000 for any of these noted transgressions. IF any GM is fined 3 times they will be automatically removed from the game.
---Complaining about Player ratings, re-rates or how they are re-rated.
---Complaining about anything in a degrading or other manner regarding other GMs or the league, on the message board.

If a GM complains about the fairness of the rerates he/she will be fired on the spot. It has been done in the past. Do yourself and your team a favor and just play the game.

Sucker almost squeaked by us. In my final check through today I noticed that passing rating.

Fahey - 78 PA. That truly is worthy of a WDF.

The guys that we dropped we didn't drop significantly because we didn't want to really hurt any teams - just make things more realistically.

We also want to continue to strive to have the individual player attributes reflect the NHL version of those players, but a lot of the will continue to happen in the off-season.

It's also worth noting that this will be the only re-rate to occur this season other than guys rated 50 across the board.

Very good job guys! I like how this happened -- the right players, fair ratings for them, role players that can actually be role players for the teams.

OK now that I am not boozed up anymore I would like to say that this is a great thing. Denis Hamel has been playing with the Sens all year long and the leage has recognized thi by giving him a rating, one that I can actually use!

Re-rates like this help make the league even more realistic...well done!
