There's an old name. Still hanging around in the KHL, has a 22-18-3 record with a .925 (and now a goal) for Podolsk Vityaz.

Meh. That's a "Billy Smith" goal, not a "Ron Hextall" goal.

Would be more accurate to say he got "credited" with a goal...

Yeah, I think "scores" should be restricted to when a player actually does something on the play. This is "credited".

Prime age now for a goalie. Would be more than happy to see him back in Calgary on a 1 way contract.

Joni Ortio has more goals than Tobias Rieder and as many goals as Adam Larsson...you know, the guy the Oilers moved for Taylor Hall.

I'm betting K. Gretzky is looking at him as a feasible solution to their goalscoring woes.

Nope i mean 1 way. We can argue what-ifs but I believe he's more than capable of putting .910 save percentage while playing 25-30 nhl games.

He's also a solid puck mover. Team regularily gave up fewer shots with him than without.

I'd be interested to see how an Ortio NHL return would unfold, but I'd rather the Flames pursue a more proven option to complement Rittich going forward.

Even if that was true, why a one way? Why not give yourself savings if he can't handle the NHL?
