Flames Legacy Book
I hope this is not a rehash of a discussion somewhere else around here, but is anyone ordering this book?
https://flameslegacybook.com/
the cost is $250
While I think it would neat to have, I do not plan on ordering a copy at this moment. that may change should I become independently wealthy or win a lottery or something.

If they make another one in 5 years I'll buy one.
I want the book to include the current squad and possibly a Stanley cup win!

Seems short sighted that it won't include Iggy's jersey retirement.

Honestly the Flames don't have a great legacy worthy of a book like that. One hopes after this year they will. If anything it is a depressing reminder of what has been largely decades of underachievement and failure.
Will make for a much better read after this season!

After reading "100 Things Flames Fans should know before they die" and Peter Maher's "If These Walls Could Talk" books, I don't have much interest in spending $250 on a book like this. That said, when they interviewed George Johnson he said it does include a lot of Atlanta Flames content, which might be interesting to some (but not to me unfortunately).

I agree. I found the book to be very light on good stories and really didn't tell me anything I didnt already know.
Pretty sure legacy book will be no different

perhaps the writers could focus their attention on the oilers next. 5 years of glory followed by many years of incompetence

I got one for Christmas. I’m excited. I don’t care if we haven’t won 10 Stanley Cups, I love the Flames and all things Flames. It looks nice and will look great on my shelf for everyone to see.

I don't think "Legacy" only applies to dynastic franchises. History is good and bad.
If you know your history
Then you would know where you coming from

Fair enough but I have books on the Flames from the 80's. Ill wait for a book with another peak and not just one big valley. I know there is probably a lot of good reading material from the last 30 years but for $250 Ill wait.

Don't they have a book to discuss that?

I'll get a sweet Jarome, Kipper or Flames Stanley Cup book if I come across one... but there isn't much of a 'legacy' here yet. And that's nothing to be ashamed of... considering we haven't even hit 40 yet. Hell, even if the Flames won this year I'd have a hard time swallowing a 'legacy' book next year.
Unfortunately, the only way to produce such a beautiful and well executed book is to ask $250 for it. Just jumping the gun here.
