Linus Lindström is yet to record another point this season. His stat line reads
 1 G 0 A after 15GP. That said he is +2.

In the SHL, it's not uncommon for young players to get horrid stats and yet be decent players. Mattias Janmark had 0 g 0 a one year yet was drafted and became an NHL player.

As true as that might be, he'd be better served coming to North America or moving to a team with less offensive depth.

That was his 17 year old season and he only spent 18 games as a call up.

Linus is in his third season AFTER being drafted and is dead last on his team in terms of production. It’s not good.

I’m not sure why they waste their time on defensive specialists. Even if they max out, they still aren’t good asset value.
Always go for skill, defensive acumen can be developed later.

Janmark was drafted as a 20 year old. So it actually was his 19 year old season.

He wasn't really a defensive specialist when they drafted him. Quite productive in Sweden's junior leagues.

It just hasn't translated into the men's leagues yet. Maybe never will.

Not really about the stats. The Flames projected him as a Marcus Kruger type. That’s what I’m referring to as a defensive specialist.

Sounds like Lindstrom has been loaned to BIK Karlskoga in the Allsvenskan
Translated of course

		| It was this season that Linus Lindström would take the big step in Skellefteå. But then it has not been, and when the club has now finished with the centenary Jesper Jensen, all Swedish games await Lindström, who is lent to BIK Karlskoga.
 - Linus an extremely skilled center that will add a lot to our team, says BIK's sports director Thomas Fröberg.

Lindström will be borrowed in the near future. It's about two games to start with, but it can also be longer.
The debut is already tonight against Västervik, in the Nobel Hall.
 - It will be a great challenge to come to BIK and fun with the match already tonight. I already know Gustaf Franzén and Olle Eriksson Ek well, it will be fun to meet them and get to know the rest of the team, says Lindström to the club's website.

yes. he's being loaned to another organization playing in a league that's the 2nd tier of pro hockey in sweden. sadly, he's looking like a long shot prospect at this point.

In a way yes, but mostly No. From what I understand the Allsvenskan is the teir II league. SHL teams that are relegated end up in the Allsvenskan and vice versa.

Allsvenskan are not affiliated with SHL teams.

The gap between the two leagues is also considerably narrower than the gap from AHL to NHL

He may well be a long shot but as long as he can get alot of ice time it will be a good thing for him. Backlund was in the same league and turned out just fine. Sveningsson is in the Allsvenskan right now and doing great.

Linus Lindstrom appears to be adjusting well in the Allsvenskan. On Saturday he had another assist making his total 2 A 0 G in 3 games.
Comparatively he had 1 G	3 A in 29 games in the SHL.

For a 21 year old prospect who was struggling, his play of late is at least encouraging.

Another thing to consider is Backlund had 8 points in 17 games in the Allsvenskan in 2008-09, two seasons after being drafted. We need to patient with Linus he is playing against men not junior against teenagers.
