I love the Oilers. They make hockey that much more entertaining.

All joking aside, I'd be interested to hear from OilStain, stang and the few other Oil fans that frequent here who are decent.

You know it will be one of them...

If it was Chong, at least we'd know the answer to "What was he smoking?" when he made a ridiculous trade.

Honestly though, a ballot box nailed up in West Edmonton Mall would probably have a better track-record than any of the Oilers last three or four General Managers.

The Oilers organization is sharing a lot of traits with Scientology (Church of ScientOilergy).

Nutbar Lowe as LRH - Knows a lot about winning and tells tales of wonder to idiots who drink it in
Head honcho Katz as Miscavich - building up Oilers land using I'll gotten funds (Clearwater)
Players / media that see the truth and want out are declared "Enemies" and fair gamed (Pronger, Cromrie, etc)
Common sense Medical treatment for players is discouraged
"Routing out" likely requires non disclosure statements and video interviews declaring how great the organization is and you were treated with such respect, so we never get to hear what's really going on.
Players that escape reach their full potential
Mandatory attendance for all members at propaganda celebrations of BS events (banner raising and pre game garbage)
Fans have to pay to climb the bridges to clarity. Tier 1,2,3 etc. Free training if they sign a billion year contact with the oiler org and live in Rogers place scrubbing it after games.

Or am I watching to much A&E

Don't forget that they wanted Comrie to pay back part of his contract to get traded which is equivalent to the Scientology freeloaders debt for leaving the Sea Org

Oh and they medically messed up Souray which is kind of equivalent Lisa McPherson.

The team would be rebranded as the HashOilers and their uniform would be tie-dye with green striping.

The Oilers having trouble pin pointing the poison is hilarious.

It’s like that saying, there is always one dork in every friend group. If you can’t tell who it is, the chances are it’s you.

They have had a couple of winning streaks this season and during each one their media assumed they had turned the corner and all would be fine. It's crazy how quick they are to dismiss over a decade of futility as soon as they get on a little stretch of success.

What would you like to hear? What is there to say that hasn't already been said? I had brief hopes when they hired Chiarelli and McLellan that they had finally figured it out, but we all know how that ended

I've been saying it for as long as I've been a member of this board - this franchise goes nowhere until they take away Lowe's keys to the building. Lump MacTavish and Howson in there too. As long as they have a voice - regardless how big or small - nothing is changing with this sad sack of a franchise.

I guess I’m curious when you guys legitimately decided it was going off the rails. There seemed to be a lot of hope among you for a couple years, when did it turn to dread?

Also curious on your thoughts going forward. They are in a pretty tight spot without a lot of movable assets and the ones that are most people would probably rather keep as they are still good young players. What do you think can/should be done?

The cheerleader media certainly adds to the entitled culture as well, when everything that is done is either applauded or chalked up to endless lame excuses to delude the public. And these guys aren't actually held accountable until they've left the organization, and then are just made into another excuse for what kept them from imminent greatness.

I think the hyping is by design; When a team is tanking they have to appease the fan so they win, hype it up then get right back to losing. Pretty obvious we are seeing some media involved in this process. I doubt we will see much effort from this group this season because they are needing another draft pick in a bad way. If the oilers didn't operate this way and feed the fans hyped up drivel + kool-aid they would likely be losing fans. Rest assured they have this part figured out, they have losing down to a science.
