NO! The purple is ours.
The Oilers are Sunny D personified. Kids love it because the TV keeps telling them it's the best, but it's overhyped, loaded with artificial crap, and just plain bad for you.

These last few days since the game on Saturday have been flat out glorious - a minute by minute stream Flame goodness and Oiler no-goodness.
And here we are, preparing for 'Edmonton is No Good VII'. SEVEN! The fact that this thread needs a 7th iteration is, on its own, astounding and hilarious. But what makes it even crazier is the incredible amount of material available for a title. There have been at least a half a dozen brilliant suggestions in the last 24 hours, but all will get washed away because there is something in the water.
It's too glorious for words.

What is even more astounding is that we usually lock up the thread after around 10,000 posts, and that usually occurs sometime closer to June or July. We are only 2,362 posts away from that mark, and February is still more than a week away.
This is unprecedented.

I really liked "Blood, Sweat(pants), and tears". Can't take credit for this but I don't remember who posted it.

And this in itself is a huge part of the problem.
The Flames leadership was cultivated from within over the last decade. Giordano, Backlund, and Brodie were developed by the team, and they drew their cues from the former regime of Iginla and Regehr, who were also developed by the Flames. You cannot just insert a leader and expect to see change. Change needs to come from McDavid, Draisaitl, and Klefbom, but these guys are all super young and have no one competent to show them the way.
The Oilers are entitled and arrogant. It's who they are, and it's why the team is impossible to fix.

If I was the Oilers, I wouldn't get Jones/Bouchard/Yamamoto involved in any capacity on the main roster until things calm down. Let them play in Bakersfield and keep them away from the chaos up north. This is something they should have done with Pool Party too, but that opportunity is mostly gone.
The best thing the Oilers can do is protect their children from the drunken gong show at the adults table.

Just make a Conner McDavid one, and have the chia seeds sprout from his neck beard. You will sell a million of them in northern Alberta. It's like every coiler fan's dream to get to water and care for Conner, and to get to run their fingers through his unkempt hair.
