No chance Chiarelli ever works in NHL again.

I think one of the most reasonable explanations for the array of desperation moves in the last 2 months by the oilers is that mcdavid's camp had previously told them that they'd better be more than just playoff contenders or he is out.

This really is the brightest timeline as a Flames fan.

Oh please let McDavid demand a trade. PLEASE!

Chia does not deserve this. Feels bad brother. It was good while it lasted.

Historical parallel: McDavid playing for the Oilers would be like if Guy Lafleur had played his career with the California Golden Seals.

There was a recent article in the Athletic that basically GM’s in today’s NHL are all “one and done” unless they have a Stanley Cup or 10+ years of experience.

Something like only 9 guys on their second team, and only one (Lamarello?) on his third.

So odds are ANYONE who is fired as a GM you never see again.

Technically what happens if McDavid demands a trade? Would he sit and forfeit salary until a move is made? I can't see that happening.

Surely they wouldn't fire a finalist for the 2016-17 NHL General Manager of the Year Award!

yeah, i really had hoped the Oilers would've won at least one game in the last 3 so they wouldnt have to look at firing Chia going into the All star break
