Those are the teams that Giordano's 51 points would be team leading. Over half the league he would be their leading scorer. He's fifth on the Flames.
Seriously though, this is remarkable.

It definitely looks like that photo. It would be hilarious if the Flames had a wall of photos of all the times they got screwed out of goals by bad calls in the playoffs. You could have the one in 1990 Game Six OT where the puck was clearly in the goal but was called no goal; Nieuwendyk's in 1991; Gelinas' goal in Game Six against Tampa; and Bennett's one against the Ducks in 2015.
Yeah, there has to be a back story in that picture being so prominent. As it seems like maybe the executive boardroom (I don't recall seeing it before on TV shots) one of the old owners like Harley was so incensed, and say to put that picture up so whenever official NHL visits came in to this room they see that picture.

Though really, as the video said the pad was just installed the day of game, and it was just installed too tight so that a puck could actually bounce back off of it like it was a post.

1990 goal there was no great picture or video of it on the old crappy Forum, it was just the crooked Denis Morel's judgement. Probably a few autographed sticks from Wayne in his basement.

Saw this at the cult site:

#97 Connor McDavid, 7. Nothing to show for his night’s work save a few fresh cuts and bruises, but it can’t be said that he didn’t leave it all out there. Dangled the puck extensively, and showcased his faster-then-the-eye-can-see stickhandling wizardry on a number of occasions.

Since Oct 27th (40 games each):

TBL: 30 - 9 - 1, 61 Pts, 165GF, 120GA, +45, 28 ROW, (2 SO wins)

CAL: 27 - 8 - 5, 59 Pts, 154GF, 105GA, +49, 27 ROW, (2 SO losses)

The difference between Tampa and Calgary, over the last 40 games, is that they won 2 shootouts, and we lost 2 shootouts.

what a great saturday/sunday....

a flames win - awesome!
an oilers loss - awesome!
the oilers loss was at the hands of the flames - YEEEEAAAAA BABY!!!

had the rebroadcast of last night's game on this morning and every time the flames scored my little guy (3 yrs old) would run up to me with his hands in the air exclaiming "FLAMES SCORED DADDY!!!! FLAMES SCORED!!!"

just amazing! love it!

Just class through and through.
Back in the 04 run a coworker, who I found out was an Oiler fan, made a comment he hoped someone broke Kipper’s leg. It was pretty jarring hearing this level of “rage passion” from this guy who I thought was a good guy. Hoping your hated rival loses fine, but wishing harm was over the top.

As an aside, it would be interesting to see an ATL done on this site after a big loss.

In no particular order, it would be all:

1. Zebras
2. Neal
3. Smith

Did no one see that McDavid threw an elbow towards Hathaway before Hathaway went back at him? Just like he high stocked Hamonic before Hammer shoved him.

Exactly this. The coverage was pretty unbalanced as usual. The love given to the oilers by the announcers has gotten pretty stupid.
