Oh, and edmonton is closer to last than they are to us, so high fives to everyone for that FYI.

Yeah, I noticed Vegas rising a couple of weeks back, but like you seem to only realized tonight the Knights are suddenly contending for the Western conference. Crazy, given their start to the year. And they just got Pacioretty back too, which is big for them.

I don't know if I'd call the goals iffy.

Those have to be great shots. Kane's was a backhand from the goal-line. He's probably one of maybe 3 or 4 players that could even do that.

It shows that he has some holes high though, so we'll have to keep an eye on that.

Yeah I didn't mean for it to sound like a bad thing. He hasn't been around long, sometimes goalies get good starts to their career and shooters start to find holes. Just saying maybe we're seeing one of Rittich's. ENough people can make that shot that it could cost a 1g/game for sure. (not the backhand though, that was crazysauce). Either way, just saying hopefully that watch some tape and he can be more aware of it.

#Flames LW Johnny Gaudreau: “Finally buried on a breakaway. I think I’ve had, like, six or seven in the past two or three games that I haven’t scored on … The guys gave me a hard time on the bench when I got back there, saying, ‘It’s about time.’ ”

I just really hope Kylington isn't getting traded. It's not like Peters to just bench a guy for half the game.

It's theoretically the best place to score on every NHL goalie not just Rittich. Goalies go down to cover the bottom of the net (as they should) which will leave the top corners open. If you can snipe top corner you can score in the NHL.

I don't really see any issue.

Just like the Penguins gave us the kick in the ass we needed, we gave Vegas the kick in the ass they needed.

I really like Jankowski’s work on penalty kills. He is similar to Monahan in that he makes it look easy which can be misread as slow or not engaged at times. If you look at his career path since being drafted he builds skills & bigger roles every consecutive year after jumping the next level up and I don’t think we’ve seen his ceiling by any stretch.

Exactly. This isn't Chad Johnson's glove we're talking about

I'm not stealing his thunder, but I particularly liked this comment from a Hawks fan on the /r/hockey post game thread

Delia could only do so much in that third period. The Flames were just too hot to handle.
Opposing fans genuinely fear playing the Flames. This is the first time that's ever happened since I started following the team in '04

Did anyone see what plays might have instigated Frolik and Kylington being bench early? Or Hathaway for that matter?

Regardless, holy hell Flames are great.
I like Frolik, but it would seem to be highly unlikely an agent goes off publicly without his client's consent.

Most people are waiting for the ATL from Gaskal, but I’m patiently waiting for the classy and thoughtful conciliatory post from TheFoss. There are few fans of other teams that I respect as much as him and he always brings something intelligent to the conversation.
