IIRC they tried, but his hip was f'ed up so they shied away.

Too bad management could never get the right players to help Iggy get over the hump. No Stanley Cup to go with his illustrious career nor did he get a chance to retire on his own terms either. At least the Hall of Fame awaits him.

I watched the first and was totally thinking I would log in to CP seeing y'all complaining about how tired the Flames look, especially the D. 8 giveaways in the first period...wow.. Smith made some great saves, not sure why everyone is complaining about him. Flames look exhausted... hope they look more energized this period
