There's a few qualities that make him our best fighter that isn't a pure goon/enforcer. Way stronger than his frame suggests, not intimidated by anyone, brawls well but does it intelligently, and can take a solid punch.

And best of all will force the issue if necessary on players who really should not be stuck sitting in the box for 5 min for their team (Suter, Johansen).

Sam Bennet: 6'1" 200 lbs

vs.

Evander Kane: 6"2 212 lbs.

Who you got? I am taking bets.

Would actually be his toughest pound for pound tilt, I’m leaning towards draw with slight edge to Benny

Kane's a scrappy bugger but Bennett's shown to be able to throw above his weight class.

It'll be like most fights in 'revenge' games. little to no punches actually connecting and the linesmen breaking it up really early

Sam Bennett is my favorite draft bust ever...

I wish he had 50 points right now but if he isn't gonna score (and the league isn't going to let him) All the other stuff he brings to the table contribute greatly to team success

This is coming from a poster often called a "Bennett Hater" in the past

I still think Neal will be a big piece of this season, any site taking odds on him scoring 20 - i'd be all over it

I really wish the NHL would fix this officiating issue. With what should have been a purely positive game for Flames fans that was mostly exciting and fun to watch, it was really disappointing to see how the officiating tainted the game. The no-call on Dell's slash, the cross-checks on Gaudreau that resulted in him getting a penalty, etc. Teams shouldn't have to take matters into their own hands like that because the refs are not doing their jobs.

Happy New Years CP.

If he didn’t have so many call backs and quick whistle nullifications he’d be flirting with 10/10 at the halfway mark. A 20/20 Bennett through a full year would be great and he still is so young. A poster here mentioned Couturier in Philly as a good reason not to panic on a guy like Bennett and they were so right.

Default Flames' New Year's Eve Offering: Burned Sharks for Family Dinner. 8-5 W!

It’s 2019 and I love Bennett even more than I did in 2018!

Big thanks to Sureloss, Gaskal, AC, Bingo and Jiri for everything in 2018.

As soon as I heard Francis say that, I said: ‘Well, now I know that whatever's wrong with Neal, it isn't his attitude.’ The last time I heard Francis call out a player for having a bad attitude, it was Sean Monahan… right before he was shut down for the season to get FOUR surgical procedures for the injuries he'd been playing through all year.
