Point being its been a long time since that line had a sustained "groove".

Obviously you’re not a huge Backlund fan but this team doesn’t have a hope if his line isn’t shutting down top players most games, so the point was to reunite a line that has been successful at that before.
Sort of a weird comment about those two giving up last year, but sure.

Oh I wasn't intending to select any given post, I was just giving you that entire thread on HF as evidence. Hell, look at the poll result.

I agree. They need to be more selfish at times, especially when they're tied or losing.

Your goalie is the most important player on your team. Tonight theirs was better. It happens. Take the point and move on.

Flames penalty kill: 3.62 Goals for/60 minutes
Neal/Backlund/Hanifin on the powerplay: between 3.35 and 3.5 GF/60
Solution to lack of scoring: take more penalties?

- Personally I'd love to see another Flames/Canucks playoff series. I'd say Flames in 6 (as before). Would be a lot of fun!
- Flames definitely the better team tonight. But Markstrom was very good, as were their top players. Tkachuk in particular was invisible.
- Jeez, I must say Pettersson is really good defensively. Like, I can see where the Datsyuk comparisons come from. He's even lanky like Datsyuk was.

Even more asinine comment. There's a technical term for people who rely on broadcast television as their primary source of news: Fools.

The Canucks have the most insufferable fan base, at least to me. Already got multiple texts from my co-worker about this game. They hype up everything to the 10th degree. They are the leaf fans of the west, I look forward to watching their 10 game losing streak.
HF boards is also a joke, it just gets dominated by the teams with the most fans. Best not look at that toxic site

It's fine if you like the CBC, or see it as a net benefit. Bu to imply that the CBC isn't a source of government propaganda is truly naive.

Calgary is actually 1 point ahead with 1 less GP.

It always sucks to lose, but at least we pick up a point and the Canucks move closer to pushing the Oilers down further. I dislike the Canucks as much as most Flames fans, but never as much as the I do the Oilers.
That quick whistle on the Flames goal was a killer though. I can’t understand how the official thought for even half a second that the pick wasnt still in play. It could have influenced the whole dynamic of the game. Oh well though. Every team gets those unlucky breaks at times.
