*sigh* Utterly predictable. At least the league felt it deserved additional discipline. That’s something at least, right?

He earns that much in roughly 30 seconds of gameplay. What a deterrent.

Not true.
I predicted crickets from the league. This is at least a symbolic response if anything.

That is not nothing, it is the equivalent of 92 seconds of run time salary. So for the first 92 seconds of the next Jets game Big Buff will be playing for free.

Better than nothing, but more importantly than that princely sum is that if he has discipline issues again he'll be regarded as a repeat offender.

Would this be able to be taken into consideration if he has a hearing at a later time? Like would this put him in the repeat offender category for future supplemental discipline, or does that only happen with actual suspensions rather than fines?
At least the league did something, which is more than I expected. They need to though, the stick work in this league is too damn high.

At least he got something. It means he's one step closer to a suspension if he does something like it again.

It adds up. $2500 plus whatever it costs to repair the burn marks on Buff’s jersey.

Was expecting nothing, so this is a pleasant surprise.
Does this add to his disciplinary record for future suspensions?

NHL Player safety shows its nothing but a joke again .....
1 foot higher and its a Steve Moore hit = JG possibly done with massive concussion
1 foot lower and it snaps his fore arm = JG done for 6-10 weeks
League has to stop looking at if the player got hurt or not on something like this.
It was a blatant golf swing that we teach our kids not to do in novice hockey and they get to see an NHLer get away with it.
Nice professional representation and Roll Model NHL
Disgusting
EDIT - I just watched a different angle and it didnt look as bad as a golf swing - EDIT

Penalty on the play would be a 120 second infraction.
what a joke.

I like that it’s at least a disciplinary action that establishes a record. But then I think back to Tkachuk’s two suspensions last year which were essentially for upsetting goons rather than anything that did or could have injured another player.

If Johny doesn't say he is fine after the game and says he is going to get x rays and fears the worst, this punishment instantly changes.
So fed up with the league suspending based on injury and not the carelessness of the offender.
Koivu jumps right up and Gio isn't suspended despite the fact it is a suspendable play.
Whoever Lucic stalked has a freak accident and is injured for multiple games as Lucic sits on top of him and all of a sudden it is a suspension.
The list goes on and on of the result dictating the suspension which is BS.
